Guest Renegade Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 When i first bought my PS2 and Controller kit, it came with a CD that saved a DVD video file on my card, and it takes up alot of space. Considering that the PS2 doesnt need a memory card to play DVD's what is the function of the file? I would check in my instructions but i cant find any of them. So any help as i am desperate for some memory space. Thanks.
Guest Grenouille Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I might be able to help, but I'll have to ask some questions. What does the save look like on the card, what's the logo used? How big is the file?
Guest Kingpk Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 You mean the disc that comes with the DVD remote? It copies the newest DVD drivers for the system onto a memory card which are supposed to fix compatibility problems and things like that.
Guest Renegade Posted September 3, 2002 Report Posted September 3, 2002 Ah...ok, thanks very much, could i live without that file when playing DVD's?
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted September 3, 2002 Report Posted September 3, 2002 It's just an updated driver. It's not necessary. There's about four or five PS2 driver versions, and believe it or not the newer ones are not always better. The PS2 is kind of a crappy DVD player. Many movies, including even the Sony-produced Final Fantasy movie, may or may not play on your PS2 depending on what driver version you're using.
Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Posted September 3, 2002 Report Posted September 3, 2002 I think you need the updated driver to use the remote. Check http://dvd.ign.com/articles/315/315957p1.html for a compatibility list.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted September 3, 2002 Report Posted September 3, 2002 Last updated December 11th? That list is older than hell. But that gives you an idea.
