Guest BifEverchad Posted September 3, 2002 Report Posted September 3, 2002 Her music is just really really good- all the songs just have this cool beat to them and she's just super cool People said that about Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Meredith Brooks, Tracy Bonham and Lisa Loeb too.. whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa WHOA! do NOT compare tori amos to avril lavigne. never in the history of my life have i ever heard someone say about tori amos that her songs have "a cool beat," nor have i ever heard anyone describe her as "super cool." i've heard her songs described as having "meaning," "intensity," "ambiguity" and "fucked up lyrics," but never "a cool beat." likewise, i've heard tori herself described as "talented," "disturbed" and "emotional," but never "super cool." if you know of anyone who has used the terms "cool beat" and "just super cool" in reference to tori amos, i'd like to know where they are. it isn't even a matter of tori being "better" than avril. her fans just tend to be a lot more articulate. likewise for fiona. my point: flavours of the week much like the gals I listed previous, Avril is on top right now, but only for a short time before she goes to the back burner and blends in with her surroundings there. Either that or she'll work the drive thru window at McDonalds. Which reminds me, whats Meredith Brooks doing now anyways? regardless, love what you will..I was jus' playin'

I don't know why, but it just bees like that sometimes.

Music to me is a lot more than background noise so I can hit on chicks. Call me gay or whatever, but I'd rather see a mind blowing show that inspired me musically than see a thousand girls gyrating around to some beat with no substance. Hell, even if I could nail one of said girls, I'd still take the killer show over it 10 times out of 10.
