I don't mind something getting pinned...but for months on end?! Sure the post stays somewhat acrive...but that's only cause it's at the very top and everyone that goes on that page sees it before anything else. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted September 4, 2002 ok, i disagree strongly with unpinning the word association thread. it has 569 pages and, whether you like it or not, is one of the most popular threads on the forum. it's the same reason the oaoast was pinned or even the mission thread before dames realized what crap was going on in there. it does serve its purpose and will always be there so I see no reason why you would unpin it. i also believe the EWR thread should stay also. hey, 3 months later and people still post in there constantly. not one other video game ahs caused such a commotion and been the result of so many disappearing hours. keep it. now, i certainly agree that some threads could be unpinned and no one would miss it. for example... --Petition to get NWA a tv deal- NWA TNA folder- no one has posted in there in over 10 days and only has 30 replies to boot. a pin is not needed. --The One And Only Hhhaters Thread- No Holds Barred folder- since its inception in JUNE, it has accumulated a total of 6 pages. hardly the kind of topic someone is waiting to post in. besides, if someone wants to vent about hhh they usually just create another thread anyway. --Post your DVD collection here! - movies folder- Since late MAY, only 3 pages have been amassed in this thread and is certainly not worthy of a pin. --Your 5 Favourite Tracks of All Time - Music folder- I like the idea of this thread but since only a limited amount of people frequent the folder, I think anyone who wants to comment has already done so. certainly the amount of posts are not the only reason a pin should stay or not stay but the threads I mentioned have outlived their usefulness. certain threads certainly serve a far reaching purpose and should most definitely stay pinned inc. pegasus's kid's thread in puro for puro sites, cubano's rules in tape trading, dames' rules in porno and admin's troubleshooting threads here in site feedback to name a few. Only because after it moves on to page 2 or whatever, some new poster is likely to come along and start a thread that's nearly identical to it.
