I think he said that he was gonna do a show there or have some Toryumon wrestlers there. Is this gonna happen and when? I would love to see this on Galavision.

As someone who hasn't really followed Ultimo Dragon except for WCW, I have to ask:

Does Ultimo Dragon still wrestle? I seem to remember him having some kind of arm injury that put an end to his career. Perhaps I am thinking of someone else.

Dragon was one of the several unfortunate cases in which WCW's doctors ruined a career. He has been retired since either 98 or 99, but announced recently that he is back in ring shape and has been medically cleared to wrestle again. Dragon is my favorite light heavyweight of all time, so i'm really happy to see him back. He's always been an amazing performer.

Thanks for the info.

Was he the victim of a botched surgery or something? Honestly I can't remember where this information is coming from.

Ultimo Dragon is returning to the ring this Sunday...in Japan. He's having an exhibition match against Masaaki Mochizuki, which I guess means he won't be going all out. The 9/8 show is a big one for Toryumon, as I think they're running in their biggest venue yet (holds something like 16,000), so I imagine he's getting back in the ring to try to sell out the place.

Not sure why he showed up on CMLL TV...maybe he wanted a warmup match? Bob Barnett reports that he was asking a lot of money to wrestle, so maybe that's why it fell through.

And yes, Dragon's career was ended due to botched arm surgery at the hands of a WCW surgeon. WCW: We're incompetent at every level!

Joe
