Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted September 4, 2002 Well there are still so many great TV series, (Married with Children) that haven't had rumblings of a DVD set, so my question is.......How many shows in the next 5 years WON'T have dvd sets? Or, what shows would you like to see with a DVD set?

Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted September 4, 2002 Yep, Newsradio Most likely won't be on DVD, but I'd *kill* to have it on DVD
Guest starvenger Report post Posted September 4, 2002 I'm guessing that Bob Patterson, the Michael Richards Show and Watching Ellie won't get the DVD treatment...

Guest Strike Force! Report post Posted September 4, 2002 Actually, there will probably be a lot of shows that don't get the DVD treatment. BTW, I'm a sci fi space geek, so I'm pretty pumped about Universal putting out Battlestar Galactica on DVD.
Guest mesepher Report post Posted September 4, 2002 I would love to see the entire Beavis and Butthead set on DVD... but due to the 2 disk "greatest hits" coming out this month... it most likely won't be happening. I highly doubt that Thundercats will ever get the DVD set either, sadly.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted September 4, 2002 Gee, do I really have to say which shows I want on DVD? That being said, I'd like Saved By The Bell (original to New Class in seperate sets) Beverly Hills 90210 (will most likely happen since it's a FOX show) Married...With Children Barney Miller Three's Company Dawson's Creek (already on DVD in England I believe) The Incredible Hulk And I'll hang on to the hope that California Dreams and City Guys make it one day. Swan's Crossing, however, I do not think I'll ever see...
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 4, 2002 All the popular shows and the big cult shows will get a DVD boxed set at some point. Getting good DVD treatment of the shows that either weren't popular or don't have a large cult following will probably be 50/50. However i honestly believe that at some point most shows that weren't total bombs will get a DVD release. Getting the rights to all the episodes will also stop some shows from getting DVD box sets. I want a Sliders boxset DAMNIT!
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted September 4, 2002 bravesfan84, you should come hang out with the four of us in the NewsRadio is Back! thread. And there are, like, a billion TV shows. Releasing every single one on DVD will never be done. But I'm just a pessimist.
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted September 5, 2002 Batman: The Animated Series (the first 5 episodes are out already) Salute Your Shorts (there was only 26 episodes - IT CAN BE DONE! ) Pirates Of Dark Water
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted September 5, 2002 They'd better do a B: TAS collection that puts The Simpsons's extras to shame.

I highly doubt that Thundercats will ever get the DVD set either, sadly. Thundercats, like Transformers a few months back, is getting a relaunched comic book, and I think the first issue is getting huge amounts of preorders. If this is the beginning of renewed interest in marketing Thundercats to today's kids, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to release a DVD set. And now that I've learned that Quantum Leap and Magnum, P.I. (I thought I was the only one who still marks out for that show) are coming out, I'm *cautiously* optimistic that NewsRadio will one day come out. Maybe when they're done squeezing every penny out of the syndication, or something. I doubt Max Headroom will be getting a DVD treatment.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted September 5, 2002 I want a Sliders boxset DAMNIT! Sliders season one was announced a couple of weeks ago. It will be released sometime in early 2003 I believe.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 5, 2002 Damn...well alright kickass. I just hope they mean Season 1 overall and not the first season of the Sci Fi channel era. Sci Fi era just wasn't the same.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 5, 2002 Oh yeah by the way TVland is having a special for the 25th anniversary of Soap this month. Hopefully they bring out a DVD box set for the anniversary. I'm surprised that Soap never gets any love around here. :does Burt's going invisible movement:
Guest Si82 Report post Posted September 5, 2002 This is easy. The one show I want to see with a DVD set is Seinfeld dammit!!! I know that nine seasons would cost a lotta money to buy but they would be worth it dammit!!!

Some wonder if it'll ever be done.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 5, 2002 Yes...both will get a DVD release. Star Wars will likely be on DVD before Seinfeld, but both will be on DVD before long. The old Star Wars will be on DVD within 3 years, but not until after the 3rd movie comes out in theaters.

Is TVLand doing a special, or showing episodes? I love that show, especially the earlier ones with Benson, before he branched off into his own show. Him picking on the grandfather (like the time he made the "bomb drop" noise to scare him) was classic. What's the dilly, yo, on this Soap anniversary stuff on TVLand? It's September 13th and i think it said they will show 20 or 25 episodes. I don't know if they are doing a special show for them but the thing they showed was for episodes. Hopefully it leads to either TVland airing the series or a DVD box set.

Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted September 5, 2002 The Critic! Hell Yeah. That pissed me off so much when Comedy Central jerked around with the schedule before finally just pulling it. Also I want Duckman on DVD.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted September 5, 2002 Salute Your Shorts would be awesome on DVD. Hey, remember the waterballoon episode? Classic. Speaking of Duckman..how about Weird Science...along with a digitally re-mastered copy of the original?
