Well there are still so many great TV series, (Married with Children) that haven't had rumblings of a DVD set, so my question is.......How many shows in the next 5 years WON'T have dvd sets? Or, what shows would you like to see with a DVD set?

Actually, there will probably be a lot of shows that don't get the DVD treatment.

 

BTW, I'm a sci fi space geek, so I'm pretty pumped about Universal putting out Battlestar Galactica on DVD.

I would love to see the entire Beavis and Butthead set on DVD... but due to the 2 disk "greatest hits" coming out this month... it most likely won't be happening.

 

I highly doubt that Thundercats will ever get the DVD set either, sadly.

All the popular shows and the big cult shows will get a DVD boxed set at some point.

 

Getting good DVD treatment of the shows that either weren't popular or don't have a large cult following will probably be 50/50.

 

However i honestly believe that at some point most shows that weren't total bombs will get a DVD release. Getting the rights to all the episodes will also stop some shows from getting DVD box sets.

 

I want a Sliders boxset DAMNIT!

Thundercats, like Transformers a few months back, is getting a relaunched comic book, and I think the first issue is getting huge amounts of preorders. If this is the beginning of renewed interest in marketing Thundercats to today's kids, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to release a DVD set.

 

And now that I've learned that Quantum Leap and Magnum, P.I. (I thought I was the only one who still marks out for that show) are coming out, I'm *cautiously* optimistic that NewsRadio will one day come out. Maybe when they're done squeezing every penny out of the syndication, or something.

 

I doubt Max Headroom will be getting a DVD treatment.

Yes...both will get a DVD release. Star Wars will likely be on DVD before Seinfeld, but both will be on DVD before long.

 

The old Star Wars will be on DVD within 3 years, but not until after the 3rd movie comes out in theaters.

It's September 13th and i think it said they will show 20 or 25 episodes. I don't know if they are doing a special show for them but the thing they showed was for episodes.

 

Hopefully it leads to either TVland airing the series or a DVD box set.
