Ok I never saw the movie, probobaly never will, but I wonder, How in the hell did Freddie Prinze get casted as Fred? Then it hit, as soon as Gellar landed the role of Daphney, she probobaly DEMANDED that Prinze be Fred....it may sound far-fetched, but Freddie Prinze seems like the last person on Earth to be Fred......Oh god, why do I even care, it is F'ing Scooby Doo......AHHHHHHHH

I liked the casting because as a kid I always loathed Fred so it was clever of them to cast an actor I fucking despise.

 

 

BTW - The only worthwhile contribution AICN.com ever made to film fandom was bestowing FPJ with the name, "Ol' Dead Eyes". If you think about it, it's a perfect summation of why the guy is such a terrible fucking actor - there's NOTHING in or behind his eyes.

Fred is a dumbass...a clueless dumbass. So Prinze was good casting. But i suppose a taller ball of dough with clueless expressions and no ability would've worked better like say Chris Klien :shudders:.

Fred's not very bright, true, but he's not an arrogant dumbass in the cartoons like he was portrayed in the flick.

Director Raja Gosnell wanted a real life Hollywood couple to play Fred and Daphne in Scooby-Doo (2002) - Sarah and real life boyfriend Freddie Prinze Jr. were his first choice.

Ugh... I'll never see Scooby Doo either, but the way they just blatantly made all the "fan speculations" (for lack of a better term) about Scooby Doo "true" for the picture and yet chickened out on the weed is pretty dumb.

Besides i wasn't saying that he's as bad as Prinze Jr. because frankly no one is. I was saying that he fits the big clueless goof role better.
