Guest EricMM Report post Posted September 7, 2002 backwards compatability is pretty key. There just aren't any next gen games as story-riffic as Vagrant Story, FF Tactics, and others. Hell I watched my friend play FF7 again recently and I was consistantly marking out. PSX has developed the strongest library of probably any system ever, and PS2 will only build on that... Guest cartman Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Agreed. As for the whole "Handling issue" for GT3...I mastered it. The biggest key is to keep the speed REAL. You cant take a 90 degree corner at 50+ MPH it just doesnt happen. Most people, including myself at first, just hold the gas and try to burn the other cars. It's more strategic racing...like real life.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted September 7, 2002 My major dislike of the GT series is the handling, no matter what care I had in GT1, 2 or 3. The damn thing was like a brick, I want to turn, so it turns slightly, skids off the track and slams into the wall. I've always thought the handling to be very realistic in the GT series. The two cars I ended up using most of the time were a Corvette Z06, tricked out to have about 750 hp, and all the tranny and suspension upgrades; and an Integra with about 400 np, and all the tranny and suspension uogrades. They were completely different to drive in the way they handled. The Corvette had the RWD problem of the ass end flying out on turns that I had to learn to count on and control, and the INtegra had more predictable handling, with the FWD knock of understeer. Of course, turning a car that's plowing down a straightaway at 180 mph should never be an easy proposition, no matter what kind of car it is and how well it's supposed to handle. I've come to prefer my X-Box to my PS2, but GT3 is certainly better than PGR, and GT3 is very realistic in the handling and performance aspect of its cars. Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Some of you guys are being a bit rough on the Xbox. It's only been out a year and I'd say it has stayed fairly neck and neck with the GC in quality titles and sales. There are plently of great games coming out this fall as well: Panzer Dragoon Orta Shenmue 2 Mechassault Brute Force Unreal Championship Battlefield 1942 Blinx DOA Volleyball Toe Jam & Earl 3 Ghost Recon Splinter Cell Steel Battalion (if you're a millionaire) ...and more I can't remember right now Plus next year comes 4 huge games in Doom 3, Ninja Gaiden, Halo 2, and Project Ego. Not to mention sequels to project gotham, oddworld, Rallisport, DOA, and amped, some of which will have Xbox live support. About the broadband arguement, try to find a Sony network adapter. They are nowhere to be seen because the day they came out, every last one sold out so people could play SOCOM, which is broadband only. I think that is a good sign for Xbox live. I'm not about hating on other systems though, there are great games coming out for every system. You'll be more than happy if you purchase any one of them. Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Actually, I heard that the Steel Batallion game will come bundled with the controller for something around/under a hundred. If it's good, I'm still getting it. Giant Controller, Check. Giant TV, Check. Xbox, Check.
