Guest chirs3 Report post Posted September 6, 2002 My idea: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- UNFORGIVEN: Triple H barely barely barely BAAAARELY beats RVD to retain the Raw, probably with cheating. THE NEXT NIGHT: RVD goes to Bischoff about getting a rematch, this time possibly no-DQ, or with a ringside enforcer. Bischoff seems game, but Triple H puts a stop to it by continuuing his "I'm the champ, I get what I want" shtick. The basic idea is that Triple H had to cheat to beat RVD, and he does NOT wanna face him again, especially not for the title. THE NEXT FEW MONTHS: Have RVD continually find ways to get title shots, and Triple H continually pressure Bischoff (who's getting fed up with this) to call them off. Maybe have a tournament to determine the number one contendor after Unforgiven. RVD wins the tournament, but Bischoff comes out and DQ's the win, saying he just had his shot, and it goes now to the runner up. Have RVD petition the fans, everyone backstage, and get everyone to DEMAND he gets a shot. Have person 1 be number one contendor. At a PPV, have a triple threat for contendorship with Person 1 (#1 contendor), Person 2, and RVD. RVD pins person 2, supposedly getting the shot... but under threats of jumping to Smackdown, Triple H manipulates Bischoff into renegging, saying RVD didn't pin the #1 contendor. Cut toooo... THE ROYAL RUMBLE: I don't know how they'll do this, but somehow RVD needs to win the Rumble, and in the process win the RAW Title. THE NEXT NIGHT: Triple H kicks Bischoff's ass and jumps to Smackdown. SMACKDOWN: Triple H cuts a promo, "I'm not afraid of RVD, it wasn't a challenge anymore, blahblah". NEXT PPV: This is the part everyone will hate. Triple H wins the Smackdown title from whoever has it at this point. THE NEXT NIGHT: Bischoff calls RVD out to the ring, then he calls Stephanie and Triple H out to the ring. The Raw GM and Champion, and the Smackdown GM and champion. Then have the two GM's announce that at Wrestlemania... The titles will be unified. RVD FINALLY gets his rematch against Triple H, who freaks out at this announcement, because he JUST won the SD! title. WRESTLEMANIA: RVD wins and unifies them back into one World Heavyweight Championship. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I can understand why some people might not like the whole "Triple H wins the SD! title" bit, or other parts, but this establishes a long term Babyface chase culminating at 'Mania, like it should. I think it could work.
Guest TJH Report post Posted September 6, 2002 I'd have HHH beat RVD around the ring like the bitch he is in a 5 minute squash, completely killing his heat.

Guest DARRYLXWF Report post Posted September 6, 2002 That's fairly good, but the angle goes on forever, and you have to take into acount that there could be injuries at any time, and an RVD/Triple H match would more than likely be a ** debacle. Plus, I don't like the idea of Unifying the belts AGAIN. If you want one, then kill one of them off, don't unify them.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted September 6, 2002 Valid points, but long angles aren't necessarily a bad thing. Austin/McMahon, for example. I do think they'd have to either be incredibly nuts or incredibly confident to try something that long term, because if it bombs they're screwed. I think RVD/Triple H could easily rise above **. As for the titles, I see your point, but I'm in the "Two seperate titles = worse than 1 unified" crowd, plus killing one does the same thing as unifying them, only makes it cheaper. Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted September 7, 2002 I think RVD/Triple H could easily rise above **. I do too.. Shawn Michaels bumping for HHH produced a better than ** match. RVD could easily do the same.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 13, 2002 But Michaels and HHH had a deep story and strong build that RVD and HHH don't have.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted September 13, 2002 Sure they do - even if the WWE doesn't follow my plan, it's pretty obvious already that Triple H PH3@RZ Rob Van Dam - just watch the end of Raw. I can't remember the last time a heel actually feared a face, so it shouldn't be too hard to make a good story out of it.
Guest papacita Report post Posted September 14, 2002 I like your idea, chirs. Here's what I would've done if I was booking: -Monday's Raw, after Jeff Hardy gets eliminated from the 4 way, it comes down to RVD and Jericho, when we get a ref bump. While the ref is out, RVD hits to 5 star, but HHH comes in, hits him with the Raw title, and Jericho gets the pin and the title shot at Unforgiven. -On the next Raw, Bischoff has a contract signing between HHH and Jericho, where the two play up just how much they hate one another. I'd probably have Jericho getting all intense about how HHH has been giving him the run around since he joined the WWF, and and he's gonna beat him at Unforgiven to avenge everything HHH has done to him in the past. Then, just when it looks like the two are about to fight, RVD runs out with a chair and takes them both out before security rushes the ring and usher Rob to the back. -Backstage, Bischoff has security removed RVD from the building, and suspends RVD indefinitely for trying to ruin the Raw Main Event. Before leaving, RVD says that the only person that will beat HHH for the title is him, and the only way that Jericho will beat HHH is over his dead body. -The entire week leading up to Unforgiven, they play up the hatred between Jericho, and just how much this win would mean for Jericho (sorta like the program with the Rock last year...about Jericho winning the big one). To ensure that the main event goes as planned, Bischoff has brought a bunch of police officers (in riot gear of course) to make sure that RVD doesn't get into the building. -The Jericho/HHH match takes place with the police officers surrounding the ring. During the match, Jericho gets the upper hand on HHH, so he bails. He pulls the old school "grab the belt and run" trick, but is met by Bubba Ray in the aisle (for the angle's sake, let's just say HHH did something terrible to Bubba earlier in the show), and Bubba whoops his ass, bringing Bischoff and the cops down to ringside to get Bubba off of HHH. Bubba's ushered away from ringside, but the match continues, with Jericho hitting the Lionsault on HHH, covers him for what would be a 3 count, but the referee is distracted by the Bubba situation on the outside. While the ref is on the floor with his back turned, one of the cops climbs up top, hits Jericho with a flying sidekick and a 5 star frog splash, then takes off his helmet, revealing himself to be RVD. RVD escapes through the crowd, and when Bischoff spots him, he sends the other cops through the crowd after him. HHH then crawls over to Jericho, throws an arm on top and gets the fluke 1-2-3. RVD screws Jericho out of the World Title. -Next night on Raw, both Bubba and RVD want a title shot, but HHH and Bischoff say that after their actions at Unforgiven, neither of them should get the shot, but as always, they'll face each other later in the night and the winner gets a title shot at No Mercy. -The Bubba/RVD match is back and forth, with RVD having the upper hand towards the end, when Jericho comes down to ringside and costs him the match. Bubba becomes the #1 contender, and the show ends with a brawl between Jericho and RVD. -A match is setup between Jericho and RVD at No Mercy, with the winner meeting the winner of Bubba/HHH at Survivor Series. They can fight in a cage match, which RVD wins with a 5 star off the top of the cage. HHH retains his title against Bubba, and goes on to face RVD at Survivor Series. -Survivor Series, after building towards the match for nearly 3 months, RVD FINALLY beat HHH to win the Raw title. He then goes on a long undefeated streak (like his TV Title reign in ECW) until Wrestlemania, where he goes up against the SmackDown Champion, who's been on a similar Undefeated Streak. I'd say it was Brock, but who knows how over Brock will be by that time.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted September 14, 2002 I likes that idea, papacita... It's a lot shorter-term than mine, which means better chance for success - it gives Bubba and Jericho something meaningful to do... I would say "Send that to the WWE", since they're taking suggestions, but last monday already happened, so...
Guest papacita Report post Posted September 14, 2002 Thanks...reading through my angle, I would change Bischoff suspending RVD indefinitely to suspending him for a week to keep him away from Unforgiven. And I curse them for booking Monday's Raw without my feedback...bastards!

Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted September 15, 2002 chirs3- Great idea, but you're assuming that RVD vs HHH is going to last another PPV, which I can see happening, but not all the way to WrestleMania. HHH hasn't been embroiled in a long feud since against Austin in late 2000/ early 2001, and RVD has not had any continuing feuds, save for the one against Eddy and Brock. papacita- Ditto. Great idea, a little better then chirs3, only because it's only booked up to Survivor Series. My Idea: It's simple. Have HHH cheat to win against RVD at Unforgiven, then in the coming weeks on RAW, throw down a gauntlet of heels to feed to RVD, who keeps beating them, intent on taking the title from HHH. Finally, HHH tells RVD that if he beats ___ and ___ in a handicap match, he can have a shot at the title at No Mercy. RVD wins, gets his title shot. Their match at No Mercy is killer, goes back and forth, until RVD has the advantage. HHH lowblows him, goes to the outside and gets a chair. But wait! What's that music I hear? Das right. " I think I'm cute, I know I'm sexy, I got the looks, that drrrrrive the girls wild." HBK makes his prescence felt, superkicking the chair into HHH's face. RVD goes to the top rope, 5 * frog splash, new champion. This allows HHH to kind of keep his dignity, as he was screwed, gives RVD the title and makes the fans happy and allows HBK to get his revenge on HHH. This could also be the long-ass build, leading to HHH vs HBK at WM 19, and the likely return of Nash sometime between then.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 17, 2002 I still wouldn't be surprised if Michaels comes out pre-match in his wheelchair, and interferes later.

Not a bad idea, but I think if RVD wins the title, it should happen at one of the big 5 PPVs, just because the WWE tends to build to those PPV's a little better than they would do the IYH PPV's, making the title win seem more important.
