Guest mickberna Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I was watching Heat tonight (which was oddly all wrestling except for the NWO package), and I saw a Test/Godfather match. Sounds awful, right? Well, it pretty much was, but Test busted out this mega-cool finisher... Starts out looking like a Dragon Sleeper, but is executed like a Twist of Fate... sort of. It was definitely cool, though. I smell another push coming!
Guest ghast Report post Posted February 25, 2002 It's not a new move Mick...Reno did in WCW all the time. Who is that weird guy in your photo anyway?
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 The move was popularized by Reno in WCW and it was called The Roll of The Dice. Nova from ECW used to do it as well and called it the Spin Doctor. The move looks most effective when done really fast. Dames
Guest X-Factor Corperation Report post Posted February 25, 2002 They said they guessed it was called the last rites. Rudy: The last ride? No. They were actually sorta paying attantion(on Metal).
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Yep, it's first name was The Last Rites, It's a reverse inverted swinging neckbreaker, or inverted facelock swung into inverted neckbreaker. It was invented by "The Fallen Angle/ The Curry Man" Chris Daniels a famous and great indy worker (mean on Metal, short ECW and WCW stints too)
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 The move is cool looking, but like it's been said. It needs to be done right and fast. To make it look right.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 25, 2002 whatever happened to reno anyway?
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Development talent, or released to the indies I think.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Reno appeared on the WWA PPV Sunday.
Guest WarMachine Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Reno WAS signed to the WWF Developmental roster, but was released along with Primetime, Yang, and Allen Funk....maybe someone else I'm forgetting. This was a while ago. And that move is cool. It's one of the moves I use for my e-fed character.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted February 25, 2002 On Sunday night, Reno was in a midcard match on the WWA pay per view, jobbing to Allan "the Funkster" Funk (yes, Kwee Wee), who was doing a Hogan impersonation. Meanwhile, TEST of all people was using the one thing that could've got Reno to the big time (the Roll of the Dice) to beat the masively un-over Legitimate Godfather on Sunday Night Heat. How sad is that?
Guest HybridNetwork Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I absolutely hate it when a wrestler pulls out a "new" and "innovative" move that has Cole going on and on about how he's never "seen a move like that before." Yet, I've managed to witness the move being done by about 4 other wrestlers prior to this joe blow using it. It's just so insulting to my intelligence, then again Cole always insults my intelligence. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 25, 2002 The move looks cool but I don't see how it could be used to put an opponent out like a Stunner or even a rock Bottom. since Test is using it, they can call it the heat vacuum. And after watching that Allen Funk (he needs a new gimmick NOW!) vs. Reno match, I know why neither guy is in the WWF. I think funk has some talent but reno was just loss. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 eh...I thought Funk did look good. The gimmick was a bad idea. I wasn't so down on Reno either...but he's nothing spectacular.
Guest HybridNetwork Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I thought Funk was a pretty good wrestler. The Kwee Wee gimmick really brought him down. Wrestling ability tends to be over-looked when the fans are in shock that this wrestler has such a crappy gimmick.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 25, 2002 You know, I hated the KeeWee gimmick but he could fight in the ring. But this Hogan crap needs to go man.I know he can wrestle but Hogan's act is played. When I first saw him by the midgets, I thought he was the Huckster! Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 When Austin was the extreme superstar and busted out the Steveamania Hogan routine against Mikey Whipwreck...that was funny. When Funk did it...it was kind of...sad.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 25, 2002 well, when Austin did it, ECW had credibility or at least an underground following, Hogan had never been ripped im public before, and Austin was a very bitter man. Funk looked like he was really trying to channel the hulkster's energy. it was kind of sad but the nasty legdrop should never ever end a match!!!!! EVER!!! Unless Hogan's ass lands directly on someone's nose and knocks them the fuck out.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 That's one of the great things about when Austin did it. Whipwreck kicked out. Then Styles said "That lame ass crap doesn't cut it around here." Classic.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Exactly! or when Big Show came out as the Showster at Backlash 2000. I laughed my ass off, but Angle didn't go down to the stinky legdrop. Another priceless moment.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Hogan should be mocked...I just think there are more creative ways to go about doing it.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Hogan should be mocked...I just think there are more creative ways to go about doing it. Mocking Hogan is like mocking O.J., its been done so much that its not only not funny, it makes the person doing it look like a hack. Right now, Alan Funk and the WWA are a bunch of hacks that just don't matter in the greater scheme of wrestling. If they want to actually have some sort of edge, they need to mock people that haven't been burned to the ground already, like Austin, Flair or Steamboat. Guest Brian Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Mocking Flair? That's a sin. As for the whole Lat Rites argument, buy some indy tapes people. Search out Daniels. So awesome.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 26, 2002 he said "Don't pretend like you don't care" I really don't care.
Guest X-Factor Corperation Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Mocking Flair? That's a sin. As for the whole Lat Rites argument, buy some indy tapes people. Search out Daniels. So awesome. Essa was also relesed. What's so bad about mocking Flair, after what he did to Foley and Luger?
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Who cares about Luger? Back on the topic, at least Test is now actually trying *wrestling* rather than Shane to get him over. Won't work, but it's better than nothing.
