Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Jerry Lynn just showed up at the WWA ppv.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Man, i could live with a Jerry Lynn-Eddy Guerrero feud. The matches would have to be better than the subpar 3way that I was watching tonight. Juvi and Psichosis have outlived their usefulness and I could care less if I see either one again. Now where the hell is Mysterio?
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Jerry Lynn was released 2 days ago, according to 1wrestling.com. I don't know if this is a good thing or not, because now It'll be even harder to see Lynn. Dames
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Why the hell did they sign him in the first place? They sign him, do nothing with him, and release him. That sure was productive.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 The WWF has been signing a lot of guys they don't use/need. The only thing they're doing is wasting their own money.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Why did they sign Perfect? To keep him out of the XPW? They haven't done anything with him but squash him to Kane.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 They probably signed Perfect to keep him away from any promotion who might use him as a top guy.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Jerry Lynn was really underused in the WWF (big surprise). He can never seem to catch a break. Hopefully the WWA will treat him well. It kind of pisses me off how JR was like "We've got a real strong hand in Jerry Lynn, blah, blah, blah". They never even gave him a chance.
Guest dilk bathoon Report post Posted February 25, 2002 dammit dammit dammit all to hell. the wwf are fags.
Guest KOR420 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 The WWF let him go? I did read that on 1wrestling,that pisses me off I've been waiting for him to come back or whatever and now he's in the WWA which from what I read looked like a good show except for alan funk and reno, the kronik match, and jesus they still let rick steiner wrestle? hell the last time I saw Lynn wrestle was when I went to Raw july 23 at the HSBC this really sux
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Funk Reno wasn't all that bad. Kronik was though.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 25, 2002 At least Jerry gets to wrestle now.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I guess Lynn's WWF stay can be considered a 1-year paid vacation. He was signed in early 2001 (January or February), started wrestling on TV at Backlash in April, where he won the LightHeavyweight title on Heat, got injured right before the Invasion PPV in July, and sat out until his release. While he didn't further his career in the WWF, there wasn't really any other place he could have gone in early 2001 outside of one of the Japanese promotions. At least he got a year's worth of pay out of the WWF for 2 months of work and got to stick around until there was another US-based promotion to work for. Guest The Masked Yodeler Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I'm surprised that we didn't hear that Lynn was released before the PPV. Usually the WWF doesn't keep wrestler's releases secret. And 1Bob reported it, so I'm a bit suspicious. Maybe the WWF sent Lynn to destroy WWA from the inside out
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 It's working.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Ha. Maybe the WWF did pull a Russo. And sent Jerry down there to destroy the WWA.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted February 25, 2002 yeah I hate to say it, but with Hennig, they just signed him since he was a potential headliner for WWA or XWF. He can still go though, I wish he'd get one more nice push
Guest Jokir Report post Posted February 25, 2002 This actually works real well for the WWF. It's like having a whole new farm system. Neither XWF or WWA sign people to long term contracts, so every six months or so the WWF can come in and buy up all the quality talent. And if they were REALLY smart they could release guys they can't use right now to work for these other promotions to see if THEY have any ideas they can steal. Just a thought. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Man I must be the only one that doesn't give a damn about Jerry Lynn.
Guest buffybeast Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Mighty D, I liked Lynn but am not hurting that he is gone from the WWF. Lynn was a talent, yes. But he was also almost 40 years old. That is ancient for a cruiser, given their high risk style. I think I read that Lynn pissed off the wrong people when he came to WWF (JR). Oh well.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I understand they stole Hennig away from the XWF, but why Goldust? Wasn't he working for his dad's fed which gets zero recognition?
Guest TheMikeSC Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Man I must be the only one that doesn't give a damn about Jerry Lynn. >> Nah, you are not the only one. I thought he was decent, but his work in his brief WWF stint wasn't exactly that great. Lord knows he didn't stand out as being really good (something guys like Benoit did when they debuted). He's a decent, not-terribly-young, incredibly-not-charismatic guy. He's a nice guy to have, but you won't suffer if you don't have him. -=Mike
Guest Big Poppa Smurf Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Its just another sign that the WWF doesn't give a flying fuck about the Cruiserweight division.
Guest Buffybeast Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Poppa Smurf, did you really do the wild thing with Smurfette? LOL, I'm sorry, I had to go there. Seriously, I think we will see the resurgence of the cruisers once the split occurs. But I think the WWF will focus on the younger cruisers, not 40 year old ones. Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 25, 2002 It's no big deal really, but Smarks will never stop crying about stupid ass shit like a 37 year old cruiser that had a couple good matches in ECW. It's just Jerry Lynn people! Stop with the madness...You think you deserve what you want...you don't. Boo Hoo...It's Lynn's own damn fault he had no charisma and Personality. Guest BernieLicious Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Maybe if he put on a purple Power Rangers jump suit and called himself Mr. J. L. then I would care about him.
Guest TheMikeSC Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Its just another sign that the WWF doesn't give a flying fuck about the Cruiserweight division. >> Because, God knows, there are no better CW workers out there than Jerry Lynn, huh? -=Mike ...Who'd rather see AJ Styles, Jamie Knoble, or Low Ki, personally. Heck, I'd rather see Elix Skipper as well.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I think it sucks that Lynn got released. I was expecting Lynn to get a push of some kind after returning from his knee injury but I guess not. Although I can't say I'm disappointed by the prospect of a Guerrero/Lynn feud.
Guest The Masked Yodeler Report post Posted February 25, 2002 hmmm, Jerry's Bio on WWFSuperstars.com is gone. It was there yesterday. I guess he's really gone. Unless it really is a big conspiracy. They made WWA think that Lynn was released, but now their gonna sue for contract tampering like ECW did when WCW snatched up Mike Awesome and tried to hire Sabu. The WWF is going to inject a lethal poison into the WWA.

Heck, I'd rather see Elix Skipper as well. Lynn may not be the best but he's just as good as any of the guys you mentioned AND he was under contract with the WWF already so yep, to me its yet another sign that the WWF has no plans to do anything more with the Cruiserweight division than what they are doing now.
