Did Jerry Lynn get released?

Recommended Posts

When Lynn gets a chance to work, the only cruiserweights in America on his level right now are probably Daniels, American Dragon, and Low Ki. Lynn's top ten when he's on, most of his pre-ECW stuff speaks for itself alone.

Of course the WWF doesn't care about the CW division. That's been common knowledge for a loooooooong time.

Because, God knows, there are no better CW workers out there than Jerry Lynn, huh?

...Who'd rather see AJ Styles, Jamie Knoble, or Low Ki, personally. Heck, I'd rather see Elix Skipper as well.

Lynn may not be the best but he's just as good as any of the guys you mentioned AND he was under contract with the WWF already so yep, to me its yet another sign that the WWF has no plans to do anything more with the Cruiserweight division than what they are doing now. >>

Knoble has ring work all over Lynn, in my humble opinion. His charisma is iffy, but the WWF seems to think highly of him.

Skipper has ring work and charisma over Lynn, but he's still green and, I think, the WWF cut him (God only knows why).

I won't speak of Styles and Low Ki as I've not seen enough of their work to make a ton of comments.

However, given a choice between an older, not charismatic worker and younger, potentially charismatic worker---with both people having similar talent in the ring---I'll go with the younger guy.

...Besides, if I never hear Jerry's "metal voice" promos again, it'll be too soon.

Dean Malenko was an integral part of the CW division at its height yet the guy puts insomniacs to sleep when he's on the mic. The reason why he was still over? Because he could work just like Lynn.

The CW division isn't about how good you are on the mic(it doesn't hurt if your good but its not essential), what is essential is if you can put on a damn fine match and Jerry Lynn is capable of that.

Exactly. The cruiserweight division needs to be booked as the exception rather than as another monotnous part of the product.

Dean Malenko's mic skills are among the best in pro wrestling, and were easily demonstrated as such in his James Bond angle, where his gravely voice and natural suave showed that he has plenty of charisma. I think too many people have been brainwashed by years of hearing about how Malenko is a great scientific wrestler and so he must suck on the mic (since that is the norm in pro wrestling these days), and also they have bought into Kevin Nash's "vanilla midgets" bullshit.

Man I must be the only one that doesn't give a damn about Jerry Lynn.

Yup, you and the goddamn booking committee [;)] nah, Jerry was old, but he could still go some. Plus they just re-signed Hennig and put the bossman and godfather on tv, so i can't see that as being a justification for his release.

GOD!!!! The WWF is SO GAY  Jerry Lynn is amazing period.  Granted his mic skills need improvement but Jerry Lynn and RVD put on some of the best matches wrestling has ever seen.  The WWA sucks balls.  I really wish the WWF hires him back (even though I don't think it's going to happen).  Thank you WWF for being assholes and releasing one of the greatest wrestlers ever.
