Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted September 6, 2002 All right, I've been playing NFL2K3 on the Gamecube for the last couple of weeks or so...and I have been totally unable to get any kind of a running game going. Sad, I know, considering that NFL2K3 is supposed to have the best run blocking in the football VG biz...but it's just not happening. The instruction manual doesn't give a lot of immediate help - the jukes and stutter steps that they mention are ultimately worthless whenever you're trying to establish an inside running game and, as of yet, I really haven't been able to find these miraculous holes in the line to barrel through for positive gain. Any tips/ideas/comments? ANY help in this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Guest Kingpk Report post Posted September 6, 2002 Well, I have Madden, but I think this should be helpful: -Use motion as much as possible to put an extra blocker at the point of attack, or put a WR in motion to try to shift the defense away. -Use a 2 TE formation and put both TEs on the side you are running to. It should give you an extra body to give you at least a decent running lane.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted September 6, 2002 too me use pitch and sweeps a lot. if you are using delays, counters and trap its going to be hard
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted September 6, 2002 I've tried using double-TE formations with both guys stacked on the strong side (for example), but still nothing works. Strong Iso motion, sweeps, outside edges...just nothing. I keep thinking that I have problems hitting the holes, but I've hit a good number of gaps only to be driven back a good yard or so - I just can't break or shake tackles. I haven't tried shifting motion, though.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted September 7, 2002 what about spins stiff arms bursts? and if worst comes to worst, try a reverse
Guest MrRant Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Run to the opposite side. Motion works kindof if you hike right when the WR hits the outside corner of the line and you are running that way.
Guest xerogame Report post Posted September 8, 2002 be pittsburgh...go to the pro1 offensive formation "in the middle on the first play screen)...choose the running play 1st to the right i think it is...run to the right thru any holes you find...i find that works well for me
Guest DrTom Report post Posted September 8, 2002 I've found that, in both Madden and 2K3, that counter plays work well. In my Madden franchise, Shaun Alexander is my RB, and he gained about 60 yards on 4 counter runs. In 2K3, I have Edgerrin James as my franchise RB, and he chewed up close to 50 yards on 6 or 7 counter plays. I think it is harder to run in 2K3, but that's probably more realistic. Guest GeneMean Report post Posted September 9, 2002 So for I've had the most success (as Edgerrinnapolis) by simply following the fullback. So stay away from single-back formations if you want to pound at the line. Go with 2TE or multi-wides if you wanna sweep/end run.
