Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted September 6, 2002 NWA: TNA News: Close To Deal With X-Pac, Sabu Not Expected Back, Mystery Man Revealed Soon, More Posted By Widro on 09.06.02 In today's From the Inside on nwatna.com, Jeremy Borash noted that the company was close to a deal with Sean Waltman, the former X-Pac from WWE. Says Borash: TNA is just steps away from reaching a deal with a former WWE star whose first name is Sean. I know what you are all thinking, and to squash the rumors now, it is not former announcer Sean Mooney. Apparently Sabu has heat with TNA management and isn't expected to be back wrestling with the promotion anytime soon. They might put champion vs. champion on the September 18 show, with X champion Jerry Lynn facing Ron Killings for the NWA Title. Borash put over the X-Division special as one for the tape collectors. The man under the mask will be revealed on the September 18th show as well. Also Borash talked about the Tag Team Gauntlet for the Gold, and how some surprise teams were lined up. Borash finished the report by describing what he was doing on September 11th last year. credit: NWATNA.com
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted September 6, 2002 so it looks like x-pac will be joining the NWA soon. I like the thought of that because I think the x-division will be exactly what he need to get his career back on track. too bad about sabu not returning. the champion vs. champion match sounds pretty interesting, but do you really think they would put both titles on one wrestlers so early. i'm betting on a shmozz to end that match. I wouldn't mind seeing them wrestle to a draw. I just don't want to see outside interference of Jeff Jarrett come in disturbing the match.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted September 6, 2002 I would like to see Lo-Ki, AJ, and JJ hit the ring at the end of that match.

It's for the NWA Title. You're thinking of Title vs. Title. That wouldn't be the case between Lynn vs. The Truth. It'll be the first time the X-Champion will get a shot at the NWA Title. That's why it's called "Champion vs. Champion".
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 6, 2002 I'd like to see a time limit draw...to put over the importance of both belts. They couldn't go wrong with Killings winning a close match... but putting Lynn over would be a bad idea...because the non X division portion of TNA would never be worth anything. Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Like I said before, signing X-Pac would be a horrible step back for the company as well as showing that some of the top management figures are a little too markish for their own good. Champion/Champion should be built up to, not just thrown out there. Granted, a large part of NWATNA's audience appears to be online but they should hold off and hype the meeting between their two top champs at least a week in advance on the show itself. edited to add : a match with Lynn could also prove vital to Killing's title reign as it should help him serve up a hot match, something he's yet to do in his career. Guest nikowwf Report post Posted September 9, 2002 Wow X-Pac. I so loved seeing him on WWE tv. It will be SO wonderful to pay $10 a week to see him now! NIKO
