Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted September 7, 2002 I don't know what type of coffee he's been drinking, but not only did Misawa use common sense to take the GHC off Ogawa, he actually JOBBED! in the tag title match. HOLY SHIT, Misawa is trying to elevate new talent.

Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted September 7, 2002 I spoke too soon, Takayama wanted Akiyama as his first challenger, but instead the first challenger is....MISAWA! Jesus Christ in a Taxicab, if he wins the title, I will be PISSED beyond belief.
Guest Grenouille Report post Posted September 7, 2002 I doubt Misawa will win the title back. With the push Takayama has had so far this year, I would guess it's just time for him to get his big win over the legend. Takayama will probably end up with the NWF title too, but as far as the GHC, I don't see him losing it until 2003 probably to Akiyama.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Takayam vs Yasuda is going to wind up being the NWF Title Tournament final. Tenzan challenged Takayama for the title if he won, but now Tenzan is hurt, and Tenzan and Chono want to have a title match with Akiyama and Saito. I can't think of who else can get the title at the moment. Kobashi's knees are still fucked up, Akiyama has been de-pused too much for fans to buy him as champion. The only guy I can think of would be Omori
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted September 7, 2002 What the hell happened to Yusuda getting burried? Last I remember, he was in the dog house for having such a horrible run as champion, and personally, it seems to me that Kohsaka/Takayama is the intended final. As for Misawa jobbing, it's not like he took the fall, or anything. What would be the point of putting the tag titles on him and Sano if he wants to challenge Takayama for the strap? Personally, I'm looking forward to Misawa/Takayam. Misawa still owes Takayama a job for the GHC Tourniment finals, and that match was above and beyond anything I expected from those two, so this could be good. Akiyama should stay away from the title anyway, at least until he gets some good heat from feuding with Kobashi. Omori has been de-pushed ten times that of Akiyama, and while I'm sure that could be a logical match considering the "former tag partners" history, Omori is just too de-pushed. Then again, doing Misawa/Takayama now might be hot-shotting it, so you never know.
Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted September 8, 2002 I dont think it was the right thing to do, it was the only thing to do. No way could Ogawa have gone over.
Guest Jubuki Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Misawa has gone 10 years since he's challenged for a singles title and lost. That's a Hell of a streak (and has a lot to do with why he was the Man). But that streak's over - he understands it's going to give Takayama a big shove in the right direction by losing to him, and so that's what'll happen. However, it does mean New Japan will likely get last year's 1/4 job back with Takayama losing in the NWF tournament.
Guest BigPoppaKev Report post Posted September 9, 2002 I love Takayama being GHC champion. He has really become a well rounded wrestler in the past year. His match with Nagata at the Dome was really good. I don't think Misawa will win the title back. He is probably doing it to give Takayama even more credibility. I can definately see Takayama holding both the NWF and GHC title at the same time.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted September 9, 2002 I can't see Takayama holding the NWF and GHC title at the same time. I see NJ having either Kohsaka or Yasuda go over Takayama at 1/4 to help build the NWF up and maybe bury the GHC title a little more. If Misawa puts Takayama over at Budokan, then Misawa is very much doing the right thing. A tad bit late, but the right thing none the less. Now can he possibly help resserrect Omori's career is a different miracle.
