Guest Joe_G Report post Posted September 7, 2002 WHAT WORKED The Commandos scout the arena from the upper deck. Pierroth and Commando Girl~ arrive and they argue over who to attack or how to do it. Or something. Not bad, but it needed Veneno. The Virus Show rolls on as we get Virus, Juvie, and Fuerza Guerrera vs. Hombre Sin Nombre, Felino, and Mr. Niebla. The story of course, is that Virus has been having troubles with his partners lately. The rudos argue about who should start and mucho stalling ensues. The tecnicos get fed up and attack, and Juvie and Fuerza almost take off. Virus opts to stay and has a quick segment with Felino, who shakes his hand afterward. Important story point: Virus has now gotten more support from his enemies than his own teammates. Juvie took his no sell pills today as two HsN backbreakers have no effect, but a third works. Tecnicos get the caida with an Hombre headstand backslide on Juvie and Niebla getting Fuerza with the Nelbina. Virus has a chuckle at his teammates problems. Segunda caida sees more of that fine lucha, with Virus getting handshakes from Hombre and Niebla. Then, when Fuerza has Hombre in a compromising position, Virus won’t take the cheap shot (Juvie will, though). In fact, he even helps Hombre back to his corner. More fine wrestling, and Virus accidentally takes out Fuerza with a dive. Juvie has had enough and attacks, but Virus soon turns the tide and hits his tombstone into a faceplant, allowing the tecnicos the win. They all raise Virus’ hand afterward as the crowd chants “Tecnico Virus.” The Guerreras challenge him after the match. The wrestling was good, if a little disjointed, but this was FANTASTIC storytelling in the context of a match, with everyone playing their parts perfectly. Stellar Moments sees someone hits a nice top rope dropkick. Rammstein nails a top rope senton on Chris Stone. Some guy runs up the ropes and hits a nice plancha to the floor. Pantera tries the same move, adds a somersault, and nearly splats himself on the floor. Nicho almost decapitates Mr. Niebla with a spinning heel kick. Rey Buccanero and Ultimo Guerrero meet in a dark hallway. At least, Bucky thinks its dark until Ultimo takes off Bucky’s sunglasses. They discuss their upcoming match when they hear a creek down the hall. Did someone just see Scooby Doo? Ultimo slinks off leaving Rey all by himself. Then it ends. Huh? WHAT DIDN'T WORK Sadly, Commandos skits mean a Commandos match isn’t far behind. This outing sees Pierroth, Killer, and Violencia vs. Gran Markus, Mascara Ano Dos Mil, and Poder Mexica. I really, deep in my heart, hoped that this feud had petered out. Such are the dreams of fools like me. And Commando Girl~! Is wearing pants, so there’s no hope here. I notice that Pierroth is wearing an Iron Cross. Either he was a German fighter pilot during WWII or he’s a big Triple H fan. Pierroth Yells Into The Mic™, but gets cut off again. The rudos jump the tecnicos, but Markus soon turns the tide. So Pierroth punts him in the nuts a few seconds in. This may be the best Boriqua/Commando match I‘ve ever seen. Segunda caida is a rudo kick and punch fest. Violencia may have hit the worst kneedrop in history. I’m not sure what he was going for there. Killer calls off his teammates, which proves to be a mistake, since the tecnicos regain the advantage. Poder and Violencia hit some nice dives, leaving us with Pierroth vs. Mascara in the ring. After some lethargic action, Pierroth sprays shaving cream in Mascara’s eyes for the DQ. Pierroth Yells Into The Mic™ after the match and says something about Dr. Alfonso Morales. Markus yells. Then Pierroth again. This was a bad match even by the low standards of this feud. The Silva, Atlantis, and Rayo vs. Black Tiger, Apollo Dantes, Dr. Wagner, and Takemura didn’t start out too bad. There was a cool Tiger/Atlantis sequence, and as God as my witness, a cool little Rayo/Wagner sequence. Rayo looked as fired up as I’ve seen him. Then things broke down as usual with Silva hitting the forearms of DOOM. Rayo and Wagner got into a mask-tearing contest, and we got quite a good look at Doc’s face. Funny bit where the puny ref actually kept Silva from coming into the ring. Even the announcers laughed at that one. Silva comes in and cleans house, and the ending sees Rayo and Atlantis using Wagner to pin Takemura. Nothing to see here… Black Tiger, Takemura, Masada, and Nosawa are all getting ready to eat at a restaurant when Dr. Wagner stops by. He apparently compares chopsticks to their upcoming opponents. He seems pretty cheesed off by something. Not sure what’s going on. Black Tiger’s shirt was awesome, though. Main event sees Los Guerreros de Infierno vs. Negro Casas, Mascara Magica, and Vampiro. Big brawl breaks out and Guerrero soon hits a powerbomb and clothesline on Vamp, then finishes him with a half-crab variation. Segunda caida sees all three Guerreros working over Casas while keeping Vamp and Magica on the floor. This drags on for a while and gets boring quick. Casas juics and later gets bandaged up. The GdI finally unleash some triple teams on Magica. Vamp finally manages to change the momentum and cleans house before Rey knocks him out of the ring with a dropkick. Magica comes in and has a sequence with Buccanero, which culminates in Buccanero suplexing Magica and both of them landing on the floor in a nutty spot. Casas vs Tarzan Boy is next, as Casas goes for the Casita but Tarzan blocks it with a falta. He goes for a pin but Vamp breaks it up. Vamp goes after Ultimo but the ref stops him, so Vamp elbows him in the head for the DQ. Match never really got off the ground, seemed more like it was setting up a future angle. Much Yelling Into The Mic™ afterwards, which I believe sets up a Vamp/Ultimo match. Main event was disappointing but at least sets up something down the road. The Virus turn was great and really well executed. Not much else this week. THERE YOU HAVE IT Joe The Lucha Board
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Man I'm upset I fell asleep during Juvi's match and missed all of it. I was seriously tired though. I was watching AAA and some guy came out with a Swastika (sp?) flag??? Whassupwitdat? I was half awake and caught a glimpse of it. Oh and I thought the Rey Buccanero/Ultimo Guerrero skit was hilarious even though I don't know spanish.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted September 8, 2002 those AAA guys seem to have stolen Shockers old costumes......Los Warriors are not much better than the Barrio boys they had the match with. Hombre Sin Nobre and Virus are great but I need my weekly fix of Zumbido Hombre Sin Nobre move that got the primera caida, is an amazing move! Armbar takedown into a backslide with a Head Stand for the pin
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2002 I'm watching the Sunday edition of CMLL right now. Should we start an One and Only CMLL/AAA Thread? I find it funny that matches tend to take the same route. The rudos pick apart the other team and single out one man. They proceed to beat the shit out of that man for most of the Primera Caida. It either ends with them pinning that man or losing that round due to a DQ. Then in the Segunda Caida (am I spelling these right?) the technicos get back on the offensive. Guest razazteca Report post Posted September 8, 2002 the Sunday show started early around 11:30 central with the usual matches of the Pieroth army and Satanico Inferinos team vs Ultimo Guerrero Inferinos team and a Signo match. Needness to say I watch football preshow, but am disappointed that I missed the Main Event Inferinos match As usual Galavision screwed up again this week as the channel had the blue screen of death signal for a long time and no AAA?
