Guest KOR420 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I'll tell you one thing that confused me and made me mad,i have to say I was 10 or so and I saw a house show at the Niagara Falls Covention Center(anyone from Western New York Know the place I'm talking about) where I saw the Ultimate Warrior face Rick Rude for the IC title and beat him then the next show I saw on TV hadn't even acknowledged it...ever then I got older and realized it was just a house show but i was 10 and i was pissed like a little girl if they cancelled an nsync show
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 It isn't about wrestling...but the thing that confused me most when I was a kid was this simple question: Where do birds go when they die? How many dead birds have you seen in your life? I've seen 3. But I've seen millions of birds. Something doesn't add up. Come to think of it......it still confuses me. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 25, 2002 the thing that always confused me was how hogan could talk such horrible beatings and come back and win, than again that still confuses me.
Guest DEEP THOUGHT Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Something that has always confused me was the coin toss prior to Wrestlemania X determining who would get the first title shot. Luger won the toss, and got the first chance to face Yokozuna. That never made sense to me because it was clearly not advantageous. It didn't matter whether or not Bret Hart won his first match; he would still have a chance to become champion in his second match. However it would matter if Luger lost his first match, because if he did (and he did) then he would not participate in the second WWF championship match of the evening, and therefore lose his chance to become champion. Furthermore Bret Hart's first match was the opener, meaning that he would have more rest time that Luger did if he advanced. Clearly the winner of the coin toss was at a disadvantage, not advantage like the WWF would want us to believe.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted February 25, 2002 What always confused me was how somebody couldbe whipped into the ropes and always hit them back-first (except Steamboat at WrestleMania III)
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I was confused by the WWF WrestleMania X coin toss, too, if you won you would have to win 2 matches but if you lost you would only have to win 1 match.Very confusing to me.Also in 1992 and 1993 I was always confused about in WCW which titles were WCW Titles and which ones were NWA Titles and which ones were WCW/NWA Titles, very confusing to me!!! Thanks.

Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 26, 2002 The advantage of having the 1st championship match at Mania X was that if you won you would have teh favorable rules (belt doesn't change on a DQ or countout) in the second match. Watching Mania III on tape when I was 8 or so and seeing Andre completly miss teh post when Hogan moved out of the way of his headbutt and then still sell it really confused the young mark that was I. but now I know it's fake and can laugh at the blown spot (and the horrible match) like any good Smark would do. Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I ALWAYS wonderd why Salt/Powder would hurt someone so bad that they literally cant defend themselves or anything. Also, Hogans ass beat taking, hulk up and kick the shit out of someone was ALWAYS cool to Hulkamaniacs.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Oh man that reasoning behind the coin toss is rediculous.I mean I know it's true(Well it's what the WWF said)but it is still just rediculously dumb. Thanks.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 26, 2002 It may be dumb but at least the had a reason that made sense. Unlike a lot of their stuff lately. Another thing that confused me was, why Japanese and Samoan wrestlers never wore shoes. This bothered me, as I thought it was really stupid to fight a guy who is wearing shoes while you aren't. If I had the shoes I would just stomp the guys feet repeatedly until he couldn't walk. I remember asking my dad (who hates wrestling) about this and he just laughed and said, "Allen, their professional wrestlers, of course they're stupid." Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I remember being rather confused when I was watching WCW Pro Wrestling once. Their was a match between, I believe, Dustin Rhodes and some jobber. Anyway, Dustin was US Champion at the time, but he did not have his belt with him, so the announcers make some huge deal about the match being a non-title match. It made me wonder, "Okay. He is facing some loser who always loses anyway, so why are they making a big deal about it being a non-title match? It is not like Dustin is going to lose anyway. Besides, what makes this jobber special that he has to wrestle a non-title match when all the other jobbers get title matches? When I became a smarter wrestling fan, I found out that the answer probably had to do with the Disney tapings. Another that always confused me back then was what happened to some of the guys the WWF and WCW had. I mean, they would make a huge deal about someone's debut, then he would NEVER be seen again, or wrestle like 2 or 3 matches and vanish. Like this one guy who I saw once in WCW, I see him wrestling on WCW Pro or Worldwide and they are pumping him up as some Swedish Olympian or something. I guess he was being primed to be WCW's answer to the heat machine that was Ludvig Borga. Anyway, he beats up some jobber, and the announcers seem to be talking him up as the next big things. Problem was that I never saw him wrestle again. It always confused my young self thinking about whatever happened to these guys who I wanted to see more of. It saddens me to this day that the WWF pulled the plug on the Friar Ferguson gimmick so quickly. I was such a mark for that gimmick. Ah well...
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I was confused how the wrestlers bleed. When I was younger I never knew they bladed. Until I saw a Ric Flair match. Flair got on his heads, ducked his head down and put his finger near is head and went back and forth with his finger. He got up bleeding. Then I knew he made himself bleed somehow. Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I was always confused as to how wrestlers would just all of a sudden change there character or gimmick. I never how how people could just change so quickly and so differently.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 27, 2002 I didn't understand what guys like the Undertaker or Papa Shango did in the arena before their matches. It never occured to me that they were just sitting in the lockeroom with all the other guys getting ready. How naive I was?
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted February 27, 2002 At royal rumble 90, hogan said he "got to the arena early and saw all the other guys walking around" That always befuddled me b/c if theyre not friends, tehyre gonna stay away from each other and if they hate hogan, why not just jump him? Guest Redhawk Report post Posted February 27, 2002 I swore that I saw something on TV about how Hulk Hogan had killed King Harley Race. I remember them showing Race going through a table or something outside the ring. Then they were showing a picture of him that was like in a purple cloud and playing piano music. I really thought that he was dead, and Hogan had killed him. Does anyone remember this?

Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 3, 2002 One thing that confuses me to this day is the booking of the Rougeaus vs. Dream Team at Wrestlemania III. Why would they dump Beefcake if they won the match?
Guest Maurizio C... Version 2 Report post Posted March 3, 2002 Papa Shango, I was 12 years old... how could they hire a satanist?! Wasn't it against the laws... of course, today's kids (at least, the idiotic ones who don't read the net) will be asking why the WWF hired a pimp since it's an illegal job. Charles Wright truly is tradition for gimmick kids don't understand

That would be Frank Andersson, a former swedish olympic wrestling great (can't remember if he wrestled freestyle or greco roman, though, and I can't remember if he ever got an olympic gold, though he won the world championship in his weightclass on more than one occasion). Being as I live in Sweden, we got to see him squash jobbers on a weekly basis, until they stopped showing WCW on that particular channel. I also believe that he quit after about a year and a half in WCW, as they would basically never push him.
Guest The Man They Call Texas Blu Report post Posted March 4, 2002 My dad always use to tell me Ric Flair was 70 years old. I wondered how I man that old could beat up guys like Hulk Hogan. I used to ask my grandpa if he could beat up Hulk Hogan. I also wondered if wrestlers hate each other, then how come the always wait to fight in the ring? Why don't they fight on the street or in the back?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 4, 2002 "I also wondered if wrestlers hate each other, then how come the always wait to fight in the ring? Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted March 4, 2002 I was always confused or rather puzzled at how Wrestlers would appear from under the ring. Did they stay under for the entire card? Did the crew sneak him under the ring? Is there some special access way under the ring?
Guest Kalle Report post Posted March 5, 2002 Frank Andersson I am also from Sweden, and I remember very well the Frank Andersson jobber matches, all of them were shown in Sweden I think. Frank left pro wrestling UNDEFEATED, not many others do that. I guess his biggest win was against Booker T. He also beat Stevie Ray in a singles match. I also remember him beating Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker. And in a match from Japan he tagged with 2 Cold Scorpio against two japanese guys. All the other matches I saw with him were jobber matches. I do not think he was ever supposed to be a Ludvig Borga type character. Borga/Halme was actually just being himself, he really has those views. Frank Andersson was supposed to tag with Hulk Hogan against Vader & Flair in the first ever Swedish WCW card, at Globen in Stockholm. But it never happened. Guest ManTroniX Report post Posted March 6, 2002 I was confused as to how the "Sleeper Hold" could actually cause a wrestler to pass out. Hmm...I'm still confused about that. Luckily, it's rarely used nowadays...
Guest LowSparkOfHighHeeledBoys Report post Posted March 7, 2002 Royal Rumble 1989 Ax draws #1, Smash draws #2 Why in the world would they want to beat each other up??? Even a turd burglar would want to team up with his buddy and just pick people off one at a time. Sheeesh! that was the point, though...they punched and kicked eachother for a minute or two, and then they beat the ever loving shit out of the poor bastard who was #3...who it was, I cant remember. I remember being little and seing Dusty Rhodes beat the Macho King, and knowing that back then, they actually passed the title around, wondered why he wasn't coronated on one of the tv shows during the next few weeks...then learning that it was one of those "it wasnt on tv, so it didnt happen" things. I also used to get confused about the wrestlers themselves..especially the ones who painted their face...I couldnt understand why Demolition, the Powers Of Pain, etc all had makeup that would stay on for the most part, but the Ultimate Warrior's makeup always flaked off and got stuck in his eyelashes and made him look like a freak. Come to think of it, the Warrior in general used to confuse the fuck out of me. I used to wonder why Jake's snake never actually killed anyone when it would wind on them after matches...I'd see guys foaming at the mouth and stuff. I also was kind of confused with the concept of good and bad...like at one point, Demolition, big scary looking dudes with facepaint and leather and scary faces and stuff...were bad guys...and then all of a sudden, they were good guys, etc.
