Font Request

Recommended Posts

Guest areacode212

You don't need to request a font, since they're installed locally on your PC.

I think most Windows users have Lucida Blackletter on their PCs, so try this:

My name is Marney, and I like Aimee Mann

will look like:

My name is Marney, and I like Aimee Mann

:headbang:

Thanks 212! So, um, what happens when other people see it, assuming they don't have this font installed on their computer? Does my computer upload the information automatically to your servers or would they just see it in Arial or something?

Sorry if that's a really dumb question that made you bang your head against the wall. I can click buttons and things, but I'm really not too good with tech stuff.

They'll just see it as a plain font (I'm seeing it as Arial), which is why Lucida Blackletter is probably the way to go. It's not the greatest Blackletter font, but more people will see it as you intended.

But it's just big, blocky letters... JSL Blackletter is gothic. Y'know, with all the little flourishes and curls and elaborate capitals and stuff.

Maybe you don't have Lucida Blackletter (it looks gothic on my system). Hmm, weird. OK...everyone download JSL Blackletter!

Just checked. I have a couple of Lucida fonts on my computer, but they're called "Lucida Console" and "Lucida Sans Unicode." I checked my Windows XP CD; nothing. I did a web search for Lucida Blackletter, and I only found sites selling it for $22 or sometimes $34.95.

Try "Impact"; it's pretty similar. It's the font I use in my sig.
