Worst show you've been to?

Guest kingkamala

The worst show I've been to was a WWF house show the week before Survivor Series 2001 nothing was really bad actually the card was just all guys from development to mid card not upper mid card just plain old mid card. The Main event was RVD Vs Raven for the Hardcore title(Match probably would have been good if it hadn't lasted only 3 or 4 minutes), other matches included Edge Vs Christian for the European title, The APA Vs The Dudleys for the WCW tag team titles, Spike Dudley Vs Funaki, Hugh Morrus and The Hurricane Vs The Zoo Crew. There were some Alliance Vs OVW matches that nobody gave a crap about Randy Orton/Rico Vs Steven Richards and Tommy Dreamer, Ron Waterman Vs Sean Stasiak and Brock Lesnar Vs Crash Holly ( Sadly probably the best match of the night).

Any way what is the worst show you've been to?

I went to that one as well King...and it did suck.

I think the worst one was a "Legends of Wrestling" in Bangor, ME in August of 2002. Every match didn't even break -*. It was literally that bad. They had a midget match that consisted of them stalling for 15 minutes. Everyone no sold each other and half the guys looked like shit. Ugh. It was good to meet people like Brutus Beefcake, Jim Duggan, etc. But the show itself was pitiful.

I've been to 4 house shows and 2 TV tapings. I don't really remember the 3 house shows from 1996/1997. One of them was all tag-team matches, headlined by Michaels/Lothario vs. Cornette/Vader. Then I went to one with a Undertaker-Sid main and the other had Michaels-Austin (1997). Since I don't really recall those, I'll say the worst show was a SD! taping leading up to WretleMania 2000. The main was X-Pac-Rock. Some of the other matches included Big Show-Rikishi and HHH-Godfathter. Scotty 2 Hotty-Malenko was decent, Hardyz-Benoit/Saturn was also good. I think Angle teamed up with Backlund to fight Jericho and Tazz as well.

A house show at the Oshawa Civic Centre in 1989. A good Bad News/Bret match, but the main event was Dusty/Bossman in a steel cage. I was a mark then so I didn't care, although I was pissed that Martel beat Beefcake clean. Paul Roma jobbing to a noname jobber was pretty funny.

Survivor Series 99...let's not speak of this...except that no matter how JR tried to sell it, Jericho's pop was double Chyna's

Also a WCW house show where they opened with Rey vs Juvi vs Kidman...it was a suckfest after that...Hogan/Flair main evented, but they had Hogan beat up Flair and the entire 4 Horsemen.

Slingshot Suplex was yelling for Hogan to die on the way to the car

WCW house show, the day after Road Wild '99.

My seat sucked (couldn't see anything), the crowd was ghey and didn't react, the wrestling wasn't that good... Probably because of the crowd.

Two good things, though:

1) Sting. It was probably the only time I saw him in person, and it was worth the price of admission, so to speak. He had some kind of insane charisma that just woke up the crowd, albeit briefly. Not many performers have that, of course.

2) Booker T. He was working with Sting in a tag match or something, and it was probably the best part of the show.

*Very* unmemorable show.

Of course, there's also next week's show, but that should be okay.

I'm too lazy to talk about it, but I was there too, and just like the rest of the Posse said, it sucked.

i have been to over 20 shows in the last 14 years, most recently being a house show last monday night, but the worst show i was ever at was the last no way out when the nwo came back. right there i realized the wrestling fan base has changed from the fun loving young males to the markish white trash. i still have nightmares from that show, and every time i hear a "what" i get the shakes

You're delusional!

::grabs random Chyna pic and clutches it to his heart::

Um...the only BAD shows I've been to were a Thunder in June 98 (which not only put me to sleep IN THE CROWD, but was bad enough to get my mom to stop coming to live shows with me), which can only be topped by a WCW house show I went to a year earlier. Did I ever mention how much I HATED WCW?

Worst was a WCW house show the week after Souled Out 2000. The Radicalz were of course gone, and while Sid, Sting, and Hogan were all advertised to be there, none of them were. The matches were mostly yawners, put forth by guys who didn't care any more, Kidman vs. Vampiro was shockingly boring.

But what really pissed me off was the main event: Kevin Nash vs. Ric Flair. Nash picks up cheap heat by having a still-injured Jeff Jarrett in his corner. Flair is of course ungodly over, especially since this is his first night back after being gone for three months. But Nash (who'd just won the commissioner's spot that week) got on the mic and instructed the referee that the figure-four leglock was banned, and to disqualify Ric if he used it. The match following was maybe five minutes long, and not good. Flair looked old and tired, and Nash looked, well, like Nash. It ended when Flair did indeed put the figure-four on Nash, and the ref (Charles Robinson, of all people) did indeed DQ Flair. Then Nash and Jarrett beat Ric down (no powerbomb or Stroke), left him lying, and walked away.

"Thank all you folks for coming out!" That's it, show's over. The crowd wasn't happy, to say the least.

lol.

Quick note about that Thunder I went to, they spent the entire night hyping a special Lex Luger/Giant dark match for all the fans in Philly after the show. It was basically Luger squashing the Giant in a 5 minute match.

Did I ever mention that I HATED WCW?!?!!?

I guess most all WCW house shows were terrible.

I went to a kickass Thunder in Feb. '99... Benoit did a swandive off the top of a cage, Raven returned... Everything was perfect.

I went to a WCW house show in March of 2000 in Abilene, TX. Every single match used the old wrestler A has had enough and is going to stall by acting like he is leaving ringside trick. It got so repetitive.

We had fun anyway though. Since no wrestling had come to Abilene in a while. We all dressed up like white trash in wife beaters and stuff. We were college kids who came to ACU from big cities so we weren't white trash which made for some fun since we looked so goofy in our outfits. During the intermission we went down to the gaurdrail and got our picture taken with the ring in the background. One of my friends saw Terry Funk in a Denny's later that night.

And La Parka was there!!! He faced Billy Kidman in the only good match of the night. La Parka came out and did his thing. Then he grabbed a mic to talk, but whenever he tried a mysterious voice came out of the PA system instead saying "I am a loser" La Parka would tap on the mic to see if it was working then try again and this time the voice said something about having a silly costume...darn you Kidman!! It turned out to be Kidman (this match was a suprise match)

I went to a pretty crappy Nitro in latter day WCW sometime right after Sid broke his leg. The main involved Road Warrior Animal, IIRC. Crowd was DEAD until Flair came out. That guy's presence is AMAZING. I marked hard for Flair, and for a damn decent Chavo/Crowbar match. 3 count vs. dragons was pretty good too, albeit short. The rest of the show was a total crapfest with Totally Buff vs. Kronik (laughably bad, although my buddy Dustin caught the magic of the Bryan Adams piledriver on film) Clarke did a pretty good Cactus crack smash in that match, too. I almost got on camera with a big sign that said "CLARKE IS THE BOMB" but security was being a bunch of asses.

I went to the MAE YOUNG gave birth to hand show, which had a main event of Big Show and Shane vs. Rock in a handicap match.

Crowd was pissy too, a "I SH*T ON EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE CHANCE TO HOLD UP MY SIGN" crowd.

I went to what was for a long time regarded as the worst Nitro in history.

I attended the 12/22/97 show in Macon, GA. It's the one where the NWO took over most of the second and third hours.

We did get Eddy and Benoit, but we also got Hogan, et. al.

I saw about five shows from 1994 - 1999. I saw just about everybody on those shows except Flair, who I've always wanted to see live.

I've enjoyed every show I've attended, but if I had to pick the worst I'd go with an ECW house show I attended in Dayton, Ohio. I only give that one the "honor" of being the worst because it just couldn't measure up to Heatwave '98 or '99, both of which I attended.

I went to the Starcade where Goldberg lost, and aside from a killer opening 2 matches, everything else sucked and to kill it even more for me, I was sitting at the very top of the MCI Center (the roof and the wall were behind me)

House show at the Fleet Center when WM 14 tix went on sale.

Taker vs HBK in a casket main event

lasted 90 minutes (with intermission) and everyone phoned it in. I was so pissed i "boycotted" buying WM tickets.

Which i regretted later of course, but im glad i stuck to my principles.

Survivor 99...Chyna vs Jericho was the only match with any kind of drama.I had a lot of trouble staying awake during that show.Partly because of the hours I was working and partly because the show suck-ed balls.

For that WCW show....is that the one where we were in the second level pretty much alone and bantering with some people down below us over which wrestlers to cheer for?

heh..I didn't even make it to the car..I was in the concourse yelling out "Why doesn't he just die??!!" The final peak of my Hogan hatred..it was too much to hold in.Fuck what the public wants...it's all about what I want.

Yeah...we were going nut for Kidman coming out in the opening match and we were yelling at the kid who was cheering for Rey.

And we were marking out for Benoit/Malenko and that same kid started yelling something at use, where you replied "Shut up kid! We can't even understand you!"

Found the results at: http://www.100megsfree4.com/wiawrestling/wiamain.htm

March 27, 1999 - WCW - Auburn Hills, Michigan:

Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Misterio Jr., defeated Juventud Guerrera and Billy Kidman in a three way match

Television Champion, Booker T., pinned Brian Adams

World Tag Team Champions, Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko, defeated Dave Finlay and David Taylor

Konnan defeated Blitzkrieg

Perry Saturn defeated Chris Jericho

Bill Goldberg pinned Hugh Morrus (Slingshot dozed off before this and woke up after Goldberg's pop...then dozed again and woke up after Goldy's spear got a pop)

Rick Steiner defeated Scott Steiner by Disqualification

Hollywood Hogan defeated World Champion, Ric Flair, by Disqualification.

No doubt about it. WCW Thunder, 5/21/1998 from Cleveland. A main event of Lex Luger vs. The Giant. Goldberg was insanely over, advertised on the program, but wasn't there. Benoit and Booker set up their best of seven but neither actually wrestled. Th only thing of note was the four minute Chavo Jr.-Malenko match (clocking in about 3 seconds behind Juvi-Van Hammer in the race for longest match of the show) where Chavo finally leveled Eddy Guerrero in the whole "you do what I say" angle. I've never heard a Cleveland crowd flat out boo the end of a wrestling show except for that card.

Guest .3.0.7.

the worst i've been to was either a house show in november of 98, raw in february 99, or raw in may of 2002.

the house show had austin, mankind, taker, kane in a cage.. tiger ali singh vs al snow, regal vs ..i don't even know, and some more crap. i was in the cheap seats (10 bucks), but i only went because you needed to have a ticket from the show, and you would be first in line to get upcoming RAW tickets (the first REAL raw from toronto). the only saving grace? hearing regal's "HE'S A MAAAAN!" theme music live, uninterrupted, for 3 minutes. gold.

then again, the raw that i went to following that was shitty, too. austin vs the corporation in a gauntlet match (before st valentine's day massacre 99), al snow wrestles himself, and a couple of okay four-minute metal matches (droz vs owen! E&C vs the hardyz!).. but it was NOT worth 40 bucks, and our seats were shitty as hell.

raw from may 2002 had d-lo vs credible in the only half-way decent matchup. flair vs hogan, booker t joining the nwo, bossman vs spike *i nearly shit myself with anger at that*, goldust vs crash.. nothing else of any note. i think eddie fought someone in a 2 minute match before rvd came out. bradshaw was against someone, too. maybe xpac/bigshow in a handicap match. i have no clue. horrible show.

I'd have to say a house show at the Westchester County Center In White Plains, NY, June of 1993

I mean I got to see Bret, but he jobbed to Yokozuna in a WWF title match. The main event involved the brooklyn brawler, a jobber, and a midget against the bushwhackers and a midget, OUHCH

But evil doink was there facing Crush which was cool only for Doink's cool evil antics.

Then they announced the next show there would have Marty Janetty vs Shawn Michaels ina cage and I was mad that I went to the sucky show instead.

on the bright side I had good seats.

Since I only went to one wrestling show, the recent MSG Raw wins by default. ;)

Actually, that show was pretty good. The best part was when Jericho went on the mic and Raw went to commercial. He dissed the Rangers and sang the "New York, New York" parody. The WHOLE crowd was chanting "SHUT THE FUCK UP!". Just insane heel heat.

I went to a Smackdown in Providence before Rumble 2000. Sucked!

Crash Holly v. Viscera

Big Bossman v. Albert

Jericho v. Mark Henry WTF

Cactus Jack was there, but he didn't wrestle, either did HHH. I don't even think that Kurt wrestled. The ME was Rock v. Big Show v. Kane in a lumberjack match. Ugh. The crowd was dead. The thing that pissed me off the most was that I missed the Radicalz by about a week and a half.

Holy Crap! I was there (nothing I brag about). I seem to remember Jim Duggan vs. Brian Adams match (Arghh, but I was chanting "Hooooooo!!!" "USA"). Ah, gimme a break, for once I have good seats to a wrestling show and am trying ANYTHING to have a good time. A Chris Jericho promo before his match and me purchasing the Raven t-shirt made it somewhat worth it, however. I was at least expecting a dark match, off-air shenanigans, ANYTHING . . . but it's WCW and we're sent on our way with a . . .

"Well, we've hoped you've enjoyed WCW Thunder and urge you to check out the concession stand for t-shirts of your favorite WCW stars, like Kevin Nash, Ric Steiner, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Sting, and more. Drive safely and have a good night."

All the WWF shows I have gone to have gone pretty well for me. There is really one show that I thought was pretty boring. They had no big names. The last 10 indy shows I have gone to featured Samoa Joe, Prototype, and a bunch of others from UPW and past WCW/WWF stars. But this one was horrible. The only reason I really went is cuz my high school wrestling coach was wrestling in the show and to tell you the truth he was the best there. He's a monster! The only match which was exciting was a hardcore match. Those guys killed themselves. Taking very, very stiff shots with Kendo sticks, chairs, and a table which I though had seriously broken the neck of the wrestler. The main event consisted of a guy who weighs maybe 115 pounds and cant wrestle worth shit. He can only cut promos and thats the only reason he is the champion which I think is sad.
