Guest MrRant Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 Iowa high court to hear Planned Parenthood appeal in slain baby case I don't know how to feel about this as a big part of me would like to find out who did this digusting crime and a little part wouldn't want private medical information dolled out but those who have done nothing wrong have nothing to fear I guess and I believe it is okay since they are investigating a murder.
Guest Cancer Marney Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 "Fishing expedition?!" Christ. PP has pulled some dumb shit in the past, but this takes the cake.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 Hey, NYPD Blue had an incident (sorta) like this last season -- that's all...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 This could set really bad precedent in terms of confidentiality between doctor and patient, but since they weren't technically doctors.... Man, that's a really ugly situation.
Guest danielisthor Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 If its ruled that they have to turn over the documents, look for NOW(national orginization of woman) or any Womens Rights Organization to find the woman first and declare that she decided to have an abortion or some other sick reasoning behind it and was using her right to do so, regardless of the fact the child was born alive and healthy.
Guest Retro Rob Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 Even though they technically aren't doctors or nurses, Planned Parenthood does take an oath of confidentiality, which I wouldn't want to see broken. Sure I want to find out who did this, but I wouldn't want thousands of other women to be afraid of clinics because of the risk of their private medical records being released.
Guest Cancer Marney Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 Okay. Let's get something straight here. A CHILD WAS MURDERED AND THE CORPSE WAS MUTILATED. This is a crime. The mother's identity should have been on a birth certificate, which is a matter of public record. She has no right to confidentiality and she should be the first person to step up and cooperate with the authorities in order to bring the criminal to justice. Unless she is the criminal. In that case, the fewer sick fucks who go to Planned Parenthood clinics because they're scared they'll be discovered when they have a kid and take a cleaver to him, the better.
Guest DrTom Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 I'm all about the right to privacy and the fending off of Big Brother, but when a *mutilated two-day old baby* is involved, I think any ethical organization wouldn't try and hide behind technicalities it may not even be able to claim.
Guest Ram Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 All it takes. This is like if I went to a Murder Clinic and got my friend killed. There's confidentiality! *hits paper* Confidentiality! Hopefully this will end right.
Guest MrRant Posted September 10, 2002 Report Posted September 10, 2002 Yeah but you have to depend on someone thinking of someone else before themselves. Its not like they are asking for every detail they are just trying to narrow down who the mother could be to solve a crime I mean if you were the mother wouldn't you want to come forward and say like "I didn't do it."

Since a birth certificate is a matter of public record, and babies get printed after they're born, why can't they just take the baby's prints and match them up to the birth certificate, thus giving the authorities the baby's ID. Unless of course the baby was born in a trashcan or something, which if that's the case, the mother should be hanged, IMO.

The baby wasn't born in a hospital, the bitch had the baby and dumped it in a can.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted September 10, 2002 Report Posted September 10, 2002 Don't just stop at the mom. The Dad could be at fault too. Mom has kid, dad doesn't want it. Dad solves problem while mom either agrees or fears for life. It has happenend before. Thats the sad part. So right now. find the mom or dad.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted September 10, 2002 Report Posted September 10, 2002 The father in all likelyhood deserves part of the blame, unless he wasn't aware the mother was pregnant or that she planned on murdering the baby.
