Steelers are the best AFC team but I just dont know whats going on with them against the Pats.

But dont forget, they lost the first game of the year last year and went on to be 13-3, so dont worry all u steelers fans.

But if its not the Steelers then Im gonna go with the Miami. They got a great team this year and theyre gonna do great.

Who trust Kordell Stewart. He had half a season where he played well.

You know, I don't mind the pairing of Madden + Michaels. They are actually pretty good.

Too funny..STILL no respect for the Pats.

Here's how it works these days.

Until proven otherwise, the Patriots are the best TEAM in the NFL...they are defending Champions and that proves it for now.

However they are not the team with the best assembly of PLAYERS in the NFL. Many teams have alot of great players that are better than the Pats players individually. The coaching staff makes this team the best TEAM as a whole in the NFL and nobody can deny that until they deny them a Superbowl return.

They beat the Steelers last year, they Beat the Rams last year(almost twice) and they beat the Steelers AGAIN tonight even after everyone said their AFC Championship game was a fluke win. Tonight solidifies my statements as nothing but true statements and no matter what Miami/Pittsburgh fans think, the Patriots are the team to beat in the NFL this year, and they remain that way til they lose and fail to repeat.

I can't wait for next week when the Jets show the champs who the best team in the AFC is.

:spank:

Shame on you for thinking a team that played extremely sloppy yesterday can beat this defensive mastery team.

Posted

Yea both teams played sloppy in ever way. The Penalties were racking up all game.

I dont get why the jets became so revered just because of the Preseason stuff. They beat Buffalo...Thats not a big win. Buffalo is a 6-8 win team at best, and if Martin is hurtin the Jets are worse than the Bills.

Christ... Kordell would have done better to just throw the ball to the nearest NE player tonight...

What a crappy game.

Dear La Parka, this is just brutal. Are the Steelers just throwing the game because Patriot's Day is coming up? This is just sad.

Ok I take it back, only 5 turnovers...he was down before the fumble.

Still...Patriots Football. No more excuses Steeler Fans.

Well, this is still quite the ass-kicking the Pats are laying out. 5 turnovers, 6 turnovers...what's the difference at this point?

If it wasn't for the Jets, the Pats would of never made the Super Bowl last year.

Maybe they're trying to help us fantasy football people out.

And really...they might as well. Why not? I don't think the Steelers are a bad team...they just had a bad day. That was as much to help them get back some confidence than anything else. Good for them.

Well the steelers just lost 30-14 to the Pats. The Steelers benefit cause their in weak division so they'll win it.

I wish the Pats would run the ball more anyway they completely destroyed Steelers with a better Defense and a passing game that had more than one option. It did not matter whether it was Patton, Brown, Branch or the TE, the ball was spread around the field.

Owy -- this game's going to leave a mark.

In the ESPN pre-game I heard one of the Pats whining about no Patriot being on the cover of a Madden game -- uh, video game companies put marketable individuals on their covers, not entire teams...

Christ, the next time I talk to my old man (in pittsburgh) I KNOW he's going to blame this loss on that bad false start call in the first quarter that cost Pittsburgh a TD. Then I'll have to beat him over the head with his cane...

I'm heading to school now, and I know that's going to be the excuse. "Bad False Start". Not 3 INT's or reeeeeal close pass interference calls, but the Bad False Start. How about Kordell getting lit up at the end?

I'm sorry, but you're going to have to wait for Pats/Dolphins to see who the best team is. The Jets? Sure, they'll beat the Dolphins twice, especially on Sunday Night Football when its 24-0 Miami at halftime, and they'll come back.

But still, the high-flying Dolphin offense (It was the Lions, but for one week I get to say that) and a steady D should have them going far. Fiedler can manage the game, Ricky can run, and our receivers, backs and tight ends can all catch. Lookin' good to me.

Pats were very impressive last night, but the Steelers were also very lackluster. I still say the AFC East gets both Wild Cards, just not sure which three teams will get in if the Bills can turn the special teams around.

The Raiders are still my AFC pick. The Pats shouldn't have been in the superbowl last year, but I was glad to see the Rams lose, so it's all good. I still maintain it was a fluke victory, though. Teamwork doesn't mean shit if you don't have any weapons. They've got Tom Brady and a solid D, that's about it. Wait till the Pats play a team that has better consistency on the offensive side of things. Bettis being a non factor hurt the Steelers dramatically as well. Pats are good, but they're not that good.

I'm waiting for another week to say who the best in the NFC or AFC is. The Patriots are a strong candidate for AFC best, but the Broncos had a good showing against the Rams too. Miami played Detroit, so I'm going to see how they do against Indianapolis, who I also have in the running. Don't forget Tennessee either.

DAMN I love the new NFL! Parity RULES!

lol, Now where are all the people in the "Pick 'em" thread that picked the Pats to win this week coming up? 14 out of 16 people picked the Pats to beat the Jets so far.

Finally some love for the SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS.

ANother note, as of last night the betting line on the Pats/Jets game was giving the Pats 2 and a half points....I bet that changed after last night.

Interceptiverde will get lost in the BBD(Bill Bellichick Defense) as usual.

I think the Pats passed so often because of how good the Pittsburgh LBs are ... by passing the ball so often, their backers would be in coverage and thus not rushing the passer. Basially neutralizing one of the Steelers strengths. Belichick again showing that he's the best coach in football.

I hope this game, once and for all, shows everyone what an overrated piece of garbage Kordell Stewart is. I can't believe a coach of Bill Cowher's level can be satissfied with Kordell at QB...

Hey, you can love a team but not pick them to win. As much as I have a soft spot for Tony Dungy I wouldn't put money on his team winning the Super Bowl...

When I lived near Pittsburgh, I was always amazed at how many @ssholes Cowher tore up (not in a Bradshaw sense, mind you) whenever a mistake was made on the field. But with Kordell it always seemed different. Damn, I remember when Cowher grabbed Josh Miller's facemask after he made a bad punt...
