(0:00:00) NJ Jushin Liger + El Samurai + Minoru Tanaka + Masayuki Naruse + Masahito Kakihara v. Eddie Guerrerro + Gedo + Jado + Koji Kanemoto + Black Tiger 3 (3/29/02)

This is an series of Elimination singles matches between the NJ Juniors and Team 2000 Juniors, whole bunch of great stuff including the always awesome Eddie Guerrero.

 

(0:57:05) IWAMS Ian Rotten v. Chris Hero (5/14/02)

Super stiff mat based match, with Hero and Rotten just pounding each other in front of 39 people. No garbage wrestling at all, just stiff strikes and great body part selling by both. Ian is the most underrated worker in the country as he can really go in non garbage matches and this is an example. Easy US Indy MOTYC.

 

(1:22:55) Mid-Atlantic Ric Flair v. Wahoo McDaniel (Early 1984)

Interviews and match clips from this great feud. Wahoo turns heel on Flair because he thinks Flair takes him for granted and cuts a great bitter promo. They have a pair of matches , after the second Flair cuts an awesome enraged babyface promo. Then in the cappe r Flair goes to Blackjack Mulligans ranch to enlist Blackjacks help, in one of the greatest skits ever. VQ for this is a little shakier then usual for my comps but it is worth it.

 

(1:40:08) All Japan Tayo Kea + Kiyoshi Miyamoto v. Nobotaka Araya + Genricho Tenryu (4/27/02)

Fun tag match with the WAR team brutalizing the rookie, including breaking his nose. Kea comes in and gives Team WAR some big reciepts. Fun stuff and nothing is better then old man Tenryu stiffing people.

 

(2:00:45) EMLL El Dandy v. Black Warrior (11/2/96)

Dandy is one of the greatest singles worker s in Lucha history and this is easily Black Warriors best singles match ever. Great stuff especially from Dandy

 

(2:26:45) Zero One Ikuto Hidaka v. Naohiro Hoshikawa (5/23/02)

My Juniors MOTY, totally smokes anything I have seen from NJ this year. Hoshikawa is Hashimotocito and Hidaka takes apart his knee. Great selling by Hosh too, both workers career best match.

 

(2:40:49) APW Super Dragon + Spanky v. Bobby Quance + Jardi Franz (5/12/02)

Really neat spotfest tag, with all of the spots being hit perfectly and actually nice psychology. Like a good workrate Joshi tag with more selling. This maybe the best APW tag ever, in a promotion which has good tag wrestling.

 

(2:58:11) All Japan Stan Hansen v . Steve Williams (6/17/90) Stiff as fuck brawl between two of the badest MF’s in wrestling history. Just a balls out fight.

 

(3:20:53) JWP Ran Yu Yu v. Misae Genki (12/9/01) Really fun Joshi match which was almost like great Battlarts. Yu has the greatest Spear counter ever.

 

(3:42:41) EMLL Tarzan Boy + Ultimo Guerrerro + Rey Buccanaro v. El Hijo Del Santo + Shocker + Mascara Magica (6/7/02) Great Lucha six man tag with the awesome Guerrerros Del Infernos. Santo absolutely rules it in this too as does Shocker and Magica for that matter.

 

(4:02:04) UWF Barry Windham v. Dick Murdoch (6/87) Western States Heritage title match which takes up an entire UWF TV show. It is as good as you would expect and has some nice blood from Barry as well.

 

(4:33:23) DDT MIKAMI v. Onryu (5/3/02) Two of the biggest lunatics in wrestling bust out every crazy dive they know. MIKAMI is working with an uncasted broken hand.

 

(4:52:13) All Japan Masa Fuchi v. Tsyoshi Kikuchi (1990?) Nobody ever gives props to AJ Juniors, but the Fuchi stuff from the 1990’s ages better then alot of the praised NJ Juniors work. This is Fuchi torturing Kikuchi and Kikuchi having great fired up babyface comebacks. Really super match

 

(5:04:21) JAPW American Dragon v. Low-Ki (6/7/02) This is a submissions match and is really worked UWFI style. Tons of fun and really smartly and crisply worked. Not as great as the ROH MOTY but still really worth watching.

 

(5:29:33) NJ Yoshiro Takayama v. Manabu Nakanishi (6/7/02) Two big lumpy dudes stifing the shit out of each other. Takayama’s chest is so smashed that it looks like he developed Tenryu’s skin condition. Lots of really cool counter wrestling too. My favorite Japaneese Heavy match of the year.

 

(5:47:42) IWAMS Tracey Smothers riot (6/15/02) Utter mayhem from IWAMS, Smothers comes out to attack Bobby Eaton and their is a huge around the area riot, with Smothers stiffing the entire roster, taking a swing at a pregnant stripper, cussing at fans, continuously pounding Adam Gooch. Worth the tape for this alone.

 

(6:05:09) Zero One Tetsuhito Takiawa v. Wataru Sakata (5/3/02) Takiawa continues his string of great matches, as he works Sakata who is ex-RINGS and is stiff like a motherfucker. Great near falls and super work, this is also better then any NJ Juniors singles I have seen this year. Zero One is fucking awesome.

 

(6:19:05) NWA Tully Blanchard v. Ricky Steamboat (11/24/84) For the NWA TV Title. This is even better then you would expect it to be. Maybe the best Tully singles I have seen, and that covers alot of ground.

 

(6:34:44) AAA Angel Mortal + Mr. Condor + Gallego + El Apache v. Maniaco + Hysteria + Psicosis (AAA) + Mosco (AAA) (8/3/02) AAA is such shit, but you occasionally find a gem. This is a wild brawl, with the old school guys providing a base for the Vipers nutty bumps. Lots of blood too, bunch of fun.

 

(6:55:09) Florida Kevin Sullivan + Superstar Billy Graham promo (1983?) Billy Graham goes to the desert to rid himself of the influence of the devil. Billy Graham is Christ. Awesome promos by both, and it made me actually want to see Graham v. Sullivan which had to actually suck in the ring.

 

(7:01:07) All Japan Jumbo Tsuruta + Masa Fuchi + Akira Taue v. Tsyochi Kikuchi + Kenta Kobashi + Toshiaki Kawada (10/27/91) Early 90’s AJ Trios matches may be my favorite type of wrestling ever. This just rules with Kawada and Tsuruta going after each other. Kikuchi getting killed as usual, and Kobashi getting a broken nose worked over. Just unreal in its goodness.

 

(7:35:56) AWA Stan Hansen v. Jerry Blackwell (Early 1986) AWA title match between two of the greatest Super Heavyweights ever. I am starting to get really into Jerry Blackwell. This match is a heck of nasty brawl with some nice blood.

 

(7:47:20) Zero One Shinjiro Ohtani + Masato Tanaka v. Wataru Sakata + Hirotaka Yokoi (7/7/02) Ohtani and Tanaka take on the invading RINGS team in a super hot, super stiff tag match. Ohtani + Tanaka may be the best team in the world.
