It is about three hours before Wrath is scheduled to air. The scene opens up backstage within the First Union Arena. Kamikaze lounges in one of the private suites, laughing uproariously at something he's watching on TV. He laughs loud, long and hard. Tears slowly trickle from the corner of his eyes. Holding his stomach, Kamikaze drops the remote. The black object tumbles into Kaze's lap, rests precariously on his thigh, then topples to the floor when the wrestler stomps his foot. Kaze continues stomping with his laughter, but then ever so slowly, he calms down.

 

With just a few renegade (do I get any cookies?!) chuckles slipping from his throat, Kamikaze shakes his head.

 

Kam: "Funniest line in the whole show!.. .. .. .. What do you mean it wasn't funny?.. .. .. .. .. .. Violence and Tn'A sells. If Bischoff says it, it must be true!.. .. .. .. .. You don't know who Bischoff is?.. Well, neither do I, but he said it!!"

 

Kamikaze leans down and picks up the remote, pressing one button and staring at the screen as he holds that button down. His tongue hangs between his teeth, as if this rigorous activity is causing Kamikaze to exert an unearthly amount of energy to hold down a remote button. Kaze reverts back to his laughter as he lets the button go and then drops the remote again as a muffled line is played. The nutball grabs his stomach again, this time nearly rolling off the couch as he laughs.

 

The two minute scene plays through, and again, Kam reaches for the remote to rewind, but can't find it. He searches desperately over the floor, then into the lush leather cushions of the couch.

 

Kam: "Maria!! Where'd it go?!.. .. .. .. .. .. .. I don't want to see the rest of it!.. .. .. .. .. .. .. I don't have to!.. It makes me sad.."

 

Kamikaze's attitude makes a complete 180. From laughing to crying, the change is almost instantaneous as the show on the TV continues. Kaze sits back, folding his arms over his chest. Tears flow a little more freely as Kamikaze watches the screen blankly. He sniffles.

 

Kam: "It's not fair.."

 

After a few moments, Kamikaze begins to morph.. his facial features perk, he sits up and balls his fists.

 

Kam: "I can?.. .. .. How?"

 

Kamikaze listens to Maria for a moment, then laughs lightly and begins wiping his face.

 

Kam: "I suppose that would be rather embarrassing.."

Boy, I guess no responses = sucktitude. Either that or it was posted too close to the show?

 

Was it too vague?

 

That's what I was going for, but I suppose I could have gone too far..

It was a little hard to figure out what it was all about...but given the whole nature of the promo, it's basically just building a foundation for later storytelling. Right? So right when it was posted there's not much you can say about it. It's only later that the whole plot gets revealed and you can really comment. And now that I've read Wrath...I like the whole story, I think it has a lot of potential. I'm looking forward to this feud between you and the Judge. I liked the promo itself, the writing was fine...it was a bit vague and unclear, though, and it may have been offputting. It's a hard balance to strike between not revealing things to build suspense, and giving enough information that the readers are interested...to be honest, I don't think I can figure out where there wasn't enough information or not. ; Anyway...looking good, keep promoing! Practice makes perfect, after all!

[Guest Powerplay]

It's a good promo, Kaze, but it did get lost in pre-Wrath things. If you post anything just before or after Wrath it takes a little while for people to notice it. And it was supposed to be vague, since you were supposed to find out what the hell he was talking about on Wrath. So good promo, only post it slightly earlier.
