What games does Rare make?

 

I'm getting Star Fox Adventures when it comes out...but that might be the only one I own.

 

Bah...aside from a few select titles (GTA, Res. Evil, Silent Hill, monkey Ball, Mario, Metroid, Zelda...) I usually just play sports games anyway.

 

Wake me when XBox can claim to have two games that interest me.

The sad news has come true. Check planetgamecube.com. Nintendo have sold their 49 percent stock. But, Nintendo keeps ALL the character that RARE made (Conker, Banjo, Perfect Dark, Diddy, etc). So we may see these games made by other developers.

Actually I just checked it after reading your post and it says "Rare will retain the rights to Banjo Kazooie, Conker, and Perfect Dark. You will no longer see new games with these licenses on Nintendo systems. Rare owns these licenses."

I thought all Nintendo have said is that RARE will no longer make exclusive games for GC. Have RARE said they wont be making games for the GC anymore?

He's Nintendo's character. He comes from a Nintendo game that came out over 20 years ago. They just allowed Rare to use him because they were a Nintendo developer.

I think I may have read some of the news wrong, but yesterday, even more news was released, and now M$ has the rights to Conker, PD, and Banjo. In other words, no Conker sequel, no PD sequel, no BK sequel for GC, these games will only be on the XBOX.

Man, thank god I haven't bought one of the next gen systems yet as wherever Rare goes, I go. The only thing delyaing my purchase of a GameCube was the announcement of a Banjo-Kazooie sequel. If that ends up on the X-Box, then that is what I shall purchase.

Perfect Dark

This was 007's bitch. This game was NOWHERE near good as 007 was. It was just another alien game. The only thing that made the game good was co-op mode and maybe multiplayer.

 

Banjo Kazooie

YES! We don't have to deal with that game anymore. I played the game, and it bored the hell out of me. It felt like RARE tried to copy Mario, but failed. I didn't bother playing the Banjo Tooie.

 

Conker's BFD

This is the only game I will miss. I loved this game for N64. It was awesome seeing this game evolve from good to bad. I loved the multiplayer in this game, and the story was good. It will be a shame to see this game on the X-Crate, with no fan base. Most of the fans are with Nintendo.

 

Nintendo got the better of the deal. They keep DK, StarFox, KI. Namco is already making a StarFox game, and Nintendo is planning to make a new DK game.

I disagree with this. While Goldeneye (the only good 007 game) had the best single player mode, I think PD's multiplayer alone, with the numerous, large boards, and the ability to play with up to 4 people and 8 bots made it the best first person shooter to date. I live for the FPS deathmatch (and not Unreal Tournaments'...that game is over rated.)

Rare hasn't been important for Nintendo since 2000 really. I don't think this hurts them at all.
