Taking my brother to his first metal concert

yup, family values in action! I won the 'Musical influence' over my brother (15 yrs old) lo those many years ago. The payoff begins now, first we start making music, now the 'rents have no choice but to let him see metal shows lest be become hatefull. I win. Fear my band.

 

The show should be pretty good. Might post a review or some shit here tomorrow.

Thats one hell of a line-up. In Flames are gods. Hope you don't get the stoned Slayer. Hell its been almost 10 years (I think, LOL) to the day of my first concert: Rush, Primus, and Eric Johnson.

The only bad thing about it is that I just got back from the dentist a little while ago. Had some work done, hurts like a motherfucker. Oh well, It'll be loud but I got nice pills

 

I'm not even a big fan of the bands, save for In Flames, and even then I only know one of their songs...should rock the balls though

I saw the show when they came by Worcester, MA. Downthesun opened for the Worcester show, so I believe they'll open for the Calgary show. They suck. It's okay to get in 30 minutes after the door, because then you'll just catch the middle of Downthesun's set (and then you'll realize how badly they suck).

 

In Flames fucking kicked ass live. 'Nuff said.

 

Soulfly's only redeemable aspects of their performance were playing "Refuse/Resist" (from Max's days in SEPUL-FUCKING-TURA) and "Eye For An Eye" (the only Soulfly song that's readily enjoyable).

 

Slayer will kick all sorts of ass. Plus, extra points if there's boobs at the show, because Tom can get ANY chick to show her titties.

Slayer will rip your face off live. Soulfly usually plays a couple sepultura songs, which is usually bad as fuck.

Slayer sucked live when I saw them last year. Kerry King couldn't play a damn, and was way out of it (stoner).

 

Hell Jeff played the solo in Season of the Abyss, while King was...King was....somewhere.
