Guest pappajacks Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Since the Attitude era and the 12 annual PPVs, Wrestlemania has not lived up to expectations in my opinion. This upcoming Wrestlemania does not seem like it will be memorable. Come to think about it, Wrestlemania 2000 seems to be the best WM since a while. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted February 25, 2002 WM 2000 was a pretty brutal PPV outside of the IC and Tag Title matches. And maybe the Hardcore match just because it was so chaotic, but other then that, the rest was trash(yes, I included the main event too because I didn't like it). I agree with the former Smarky and say that WM X-7 was the last good WM and before that, WM 14.
Guest Risk Report post Posted February 25, 2002 WM 2000 was one of the worst PPVs I've NEVER seen.

Rock,Mick Foley & Big Show great anaylsis! of course WrestleMania 2000 was the last decent WrestleMania. I totally forgot about the headcheese/ t&a match. what an undercard! What was i thinking when i said X-Seven???
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I liked Wrestlemania 2000. The Triangle Ladder match ruled and Foley in the main event of Wrestlemania was worth the price of the PPV IMO.
Guest joshicho Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Right, WMX-7 is like the greatest PPV in recent years. Period. But, WM2000 is actually underrated in my opinion. Lets see cos theres a 3 way ladder match (before they got stale), a great Eurocontinental match, some T&A, some more T&A (Test and Albert jk), and a decent-good main event. Plus the Hardcore match was innovative so you can't really go wrong with WM2000.
Guest BernieLicious Report post Posted February 25, 2002 My problem with WM2000 was that it was filled with a bunch of meaningless tag team matches with teams who never ended up going anywhere, the exception being the ladder match.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 WM 2000 didn't seem like a WrestleMania. Like it's been said. There was a lot of filler matches to get the whole roster on the card. There were some good matches.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Rikishi&Kane def.X-Pac&Road DoggThis is really all you need to see to make your decision on Wrestlemania 2000. There were a few very good matches, the show was fun to watch, but the booking leading up to the show was practically nil. So many pointless matches. Not a good Wrestlemania. This year's Wrestlemania would probably be headed for a similiar disappointment if not for the NWO. Where were the hot feuds ready to be blown off at Wrestlemania? At least show me one.. Interesting that Wrestlemania 2000 was a lackluster one, relatively speaking, but the WWF did great that year business-wise. 2001, you had the opposite. Great Wrestlemania with huge buyrate, but business was down.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 26, 2002 But WrestleMania 2001 was the culmination of all that great business before it headed in the wrong direction. You had a great environment that responded positively to basically everything that was put out in front of them; the mat wrestling, the spotfest, the WWF-style main event, the joke battle royal. It was like heaven for a moment until the finish of the main event. They put everything out there, and if Austin would have gone over as a face w/o all the bullshit, they would have climaxed. Steve Austin making the great comeback, defeating his greatest rival, in his home state. It's doesn't get much better than that in terms of story.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I agree with Brian's assessment of WM X7. The event was rock solid. Benoit-Angle put on a clinic. TLC2 while overrated was certainly entertaining. Shane-Vince should have ended that feud for good. HHH-UT is way overrated but was watchable at the time. I get bored watching it now. Rock-Austin rocks the world. They incorporated counters from their previous encounters. They do alittle ode to Bret Hart. WMX7 was solid. I enjoyed WM2000 as well. BUt I can only watch three matches from it. Not one singles match? It was entertaining but not the last great WMania. Sadly, I don't think anything on this year's show will even come close to being memorable or called good wrestling.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I think everyone's going to get worked up about Rock/Hogan and Jericho/HHH just because they probably won't be great, but the hard work and low expectations will do a lot for people (unless they let their petty little biases get in the way of a sound judgment). Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Hey, Rock-hogan may be exciting up until it actually comes to fruition. Once people realize that Hogan sucks in the ring, the canadien fans will turn on him. HHH-Jericho, I still have a little faith in, just a little. From house show reports, Hall-Austin may be watchable also. Only problem is I don't want watchable, I want good-great wrestling!
Guest X-Factor Corperation Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Not one singles match? Kat vs Terri. Anyway, Wrestlemaina 2000. It had build up, though Austin Rock was legendary too.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Kat vs. Terri was a match between two non-wrestlers with battle royal rules, a special guest referee, and interfering managers. I wouldn't call that a straight singles match. Overall, 17 was far, far better than 16. 17 only had two matches I didn't like (6-man tag, Test-Eddie) plus an awesome main event, while 16 had four or five crap matches (Kat-Terri, all the tag matches except for proto-TLC) and a mediocre main event.
