Bright Eyes

Rolling Stone called Bright Eyes the Bob Dylan of the new millenium....any thoughts on this band? Personally, I enjoy the type of music, and in my opinion "It's Cool, we Can Still be Friends" is a great song...I'm eager to hear what you guys think.

Rolling Stone is full of shit. Why must everything new be compared to something great from the past? It just creates this environment in which nothing current can ever flourish. Comparing anything, let alone a band like Bright Eyes, to Bob Dylan is incredibly unfair to that band. People have a certain expectation now and there's NO WAY they can live up to that. That's why I always cringe whenever I see The Beatles mentioned in any review, ever. There's no way that comparison is going to do anyone any good.

I've read good things about Bright Eyes (which is actually one guy, not a band) in places other than Rolling Stone, and I'm interested in checking him out. I haven't heard anything by him, though, so I have no opinion.
