Bill Clinton on Letterman...

While I was channel surfing tonight, I decided to stick with Letterman. After a few seconds he says that his first guest is none other than Bill Clinton! Having no idea that the 42nd president was planning to upstage Bush’s television address tonight I decided to see what Bubba had to say…

 

After a “blowing the saxophone” joke, talk turned on various issues like energy and Middle East policy. Now I’m not Clinton’s biggest fan, but I agreed with a number of things he said. What got me sick, however, was his damn self-promotion. I cringed every time he patted himself on the back and said how hard he tried to get bin Laden, and I rolled my eyes when he said that the first thing he thought of when news of the WTC attack came to him was “Osama did it.” Please.

 

Just wondered if anyone else saw this…

How hard he tried to get Bin Laden. Bullshit. Go read an article by a Clinton supporter about how Sudan offered Bin Laden twice too the U.S. , and Clinton didn't do anything.

Clinton DID try to go after bin Laden. It was right after they discovered the plot to assasinate Bush Sr. But nobody would back him up on it. They all said he was just doing it to try to cover up the blowjob scandal. So he couldn't do it. I remember those days vividly because I was staying at a Casino for the first time and I ended up watching CNN in my room more than playing blackjack.

 

The fact of the matter is that the American people had their heads in the sand. If the people had said "Yeah, this guy attacked our embassies, he attacked one of our ships, he tried to assasinate an ex-president....let's get him. Go get him, we'll worry about the blowjob later." Clinton would've went after him. Whether he wanted to or not, if the people wanted it, he would've done it just to satisfy them. Cause that's all he ever wanted to do is satisfy people. But no. Nobody cared. Everybody acted like everything was fine. Imagine if Clinton had sent soldiers over to Afghanistan after Al Qaeda back then. The public would've been outraged. "You're sending our fighting boys over there to die for no reason!" It didn't matter that all those sailors died because it didn't happen here. It took two buildings and 5000 people to die before people finally got it and understood who this guy was and what he was capable of.

 

I really don't know what's sadder though. That Clinton never properly went after him or the fact that Bush tried and has completely botched it. So now he has to try to go after Sadam just so he can look like he accomplished something. The war on terrorism has had about as much success as the war on drugs.

How dare you?! It's an incredibly emotional and true-to-life war film about a brawny American hero liberating the innocent, peace-loving, besieged nation of... uh... of... Afghanistan.
