What are your favorite TV episodes?

Are there any episodes of any show that you thought were exceptional for one reason or another? Two of my favorites are the episode of Seinfeld that was told backwards and the Simpsons episode that gave every character a few moments to tell a story. I believe the Seinfeld Episode was called "the Revenge" and the Simpsons Episode was called "22 Short Stories of Springfield."

Married with Children:

Kelly is sick and Al is the only person available to take care of her. Any time she needs assistance she rings a little bell, which of course always happens right when Al is napping and dreaming of scoring with a beautiful woman. Eventually Al gets pissed and throws the bell away, leaving him no way to be awakened when he has a nightmare of a fat nurse giving him an enema. Then of course to top it all off, he catches the flu from Kelly at the end.

I remember that episode of Married with Children. I have the commercial for it on a tape somewhere where the nurses where saying, "Al it's enema time!"

backwards seinfeld was great. Another classic one was when Kramer went on the Leonardo da Vinci sleep cycle, (or was it Michelangelo?) and fell asleep on top of a girl, which prompted her to call her mob family, and they dumped him in the Hudson in a burlap bag.

Kramer swimming in the East river was great, too.

Kramer adopts a highway.

and of course, Soup Nazi.

Simpsons-Screaming Caterpillar

Simpsons-Homer gets put on death row. "Play the race card!...play it (menacingly)"

MWC-The episode with the Andy Griffith sequence on Lake Chicamogomiko (or whatever it was called..The toxic waste dump)

Talking Batman Animated Series the episode Heart of Ice springs to mind. The introduction to Mr. Freeze at the beginning of that eipsode was absolutely perfect in every regard.

The last episode of "Blackadder Goes Forth" was a masterpiece, a perfect combination of humour and pathos which I covered in an old thread about 'best endings to a series'. Any episode in that particular series is far superior to roughly 90% of sitcoms which have followed in its wake, the closure of that final episode is unmatched IMO.

Too many "Simpsons" episodes to mention and its incredibly hard to pick out even a couple because everyone has about a 1000 different favourite lines or events from that show.

Last years christmas special of "The League Of Gentlemen" was incredibly good and further removed the show from what could be labelled a 'sitcom' or even 'comedy' for that matter. The historical backstory format worked very well and the tone was even more desperate, disturbing and macarbe than usual.

The "Father Ted" episode where they go on holiday and Ted tries to explain 'perspective' to Dougal before they both get showered in gunge at the end is a classic. Also worth a mention is one man show episode of "One Foot In The Grave" where Victor Meldrew stays at home for the day in what is basically an extended monlogue, a brilliantly written piece of television.

Victor thinks he's going to die of some infection/disease...

<Sighing wistfully>....Oh well,...I've had a good life....

<Pauses> I'VE HAD A BLOODY AWFUL LIFE!!

For "Fawlty Towers" i'll go with the 'German' episode.

"Alan Partridge" has to be the episode where he met his obsessive fan.

I've got a whole bunch of favourite episodes from Red Dwarf, especially series 3, 4 & 5. "Back To Reality" and "The Inquisitor" were both great in RD 5 but for sheer fun then maybe "Waxworld" (right title?) from series 4. Rimmer commanding an army including Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Stan Laurel, Noel Coward and Queen Victoria against the 'army of darkness' that was Hitler, Mussolini, Caligula and 'Rice Pudding' was brilliantly daft.

<Cat and Lister being held prisoner by the baddies and looking outside their cell window at an upcoming execution>

Lister: "Wait a minute, they're bringing somebody out! <Pause> I dont believe it.

Cat: "What? Who is it?"

Lister: "Its WINNIE THE POOH!!"

Classic stuff.

One of my favourite Seinfeld episodes is the one where Kramer gets an intern for his Kramerica company, and they dump the big giant ball of oil out the window. It also featured the 'HELLO!' voice.

Funny stuff.

Yeah, TC, that one was good, as well. I also liked the one when Kramer got the screen door, I think that was the "serenity now" eps.

Mystery Science Theater 3000-Mitchell

Dawson's Creek-The Longest Day (when Dawson finds out Pacey and Joey have a thing going, and it shows the events from everyone's perspective)

Simpsons-Freddy Quimby goes on trial

Saved By The Bell:The New Class-when a developer is threatening to tear Bayside down, so Zack, Lisa and Slater all show up to stand up for the school (this was from the second season, as Screech was already Belding's assistant)

California Dreams-the one where Sly did a secret admirer scam to win Lorena over, and the last episode.

And if you expect me to pick one favorite from regular SBTB, you're nuts ;).

I've also heard the episode of Powerpuff Girls where Bubbles thinks she is Mojo is good, but I don't watch little kid shows. :)

Two Episodes of ER:

The first where Carter and Lucy Knight are stabbed by the schizophrenic. The ending sequence was just awesome, with the music and all. Who woulda guessed Laura Innes directed that.

And the following episode where they staff battles to save the lives of Carter and Lucy. This is the episode where i started to like Rocket Romono.

these are two of my faves. Any ER from the last 2 seasons are good. Etc Etc

B.T.W. Zach Malibu, Its good to know im not the only one on this board that watches Dawson's Creek.
