That way the reader knows I didn't suddenly turn on the best wrestler in the WWE and knows I do not mean it when I say Regal sucks.

Regardless, it's a play on words. You can't very well display sarcasm through plain text; it looks as if you're saying something literally. Therefore, as if it were HTML, I was joking that one could write a... "SARCASM TAG"... to show that he/she was aiming at a sarcastic remark. It wasn't so much "funny 'Haha!'" as it was "funny 'Heh...'" anyway, so I don't particularly feel sad that you refer to my joke as "stupid" or "mindless."
