Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted September 16, 2002 Innocent villagers who refused to turn over Osama bin Laden while admitting he was their guest, armed with Kalashnikovs, grenade launchers, and SAMs, thousands strong, hiding in mountain fortresses. Sure. No, I'm referring to the oppressed innocent villagers whose homes were bombed, and even before all this went down, weren't even guaranteed a meal. While it's true that some of these people could've easily been swayed by the promise of an easy life in one of Bin Laden's training camps, they're not the ones I was talking about. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 17, 2002 Quick munitions question. What's a Kalashinkov? An AK-47? That's my guess, since it's pretty much standard issue in the middle east along with RPG's and late-80's Stinger missiles. Gotta love those surplus Soviet and American weapons. Guest Cancer Marney Report post Posted September 17, 2002 Kalashnikov can refer to a wide range of assault rifles and machine guns originally produced by the Soviets, including the AK-47, the updated AK-74 produced 30 years later, the Cuban AKM, the RPK, &c. AK-47s and the 5.45mm AK-74s are the most widespread in Afghanistan.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 17, 2002 A more accurate gun, you'll never find.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted September 17, 2002 A more accurate gun you'll probably trip over while walking into any firearms shop in America. On the other hand, a more simply and cheaply built gun which still performs with reasonable reliability, THAT would be hard to find.
