Guest JustJoe4Life Report post Posted February 3, 2002 Anyone here go to the show? I heard that Daniels-Williams was a definite B(ritish)MOTYC, how good was it?
Guest Steveweiser Report post Posted February 4, 2002 I didn't go, but what I can say is that the FWA this year have pulled off not one but TWO MOTYCs (the WWF haven't even come up with ONE yet) this year... Not only do I recommend Williams/Daniels from last Friday's Crunch, but I also sincerly recommend Jonny Storm Vs Jodie Fleisch from Futureshock I that took place a couple of weeks ago. The next big British event is TalkSport's Revival, next Saturday in Crystal Palace, London. It's a 16-man King Of The Ring style tournament, involving Doug Williams, Jodie Fleisch, Alex Shane, Eddy Guerrero and Grand Master Sexay as well as many others, videos will be widely available for that one, as it will air on national TV here in the UK. Guest JustJoe4Life Report post Posted February 6, 2002 Yeah, I'm in the UK too, that's why I was interested, I can't get to Revival, even though it's down the road from where I live, but I'll definitely watch it on Bravo when it's on. I'd love to see Eddie .v. Williams or Fleisch. PS: Love your sig.
Guest Misawa Da Man Report post Posted February 7, 2002 I'll say one thing, a MOTYC, British or World, is FAR beyond Jody and Jonny. Those guys are as spotty as the SAT.
Guest JustJoe4Life Report post Posted February 7, 2002 I don't know about that, Storm maybe, but Fleisch has had some great technical matches mostly mat-based, like .v. Ohtani/Daniels at Wrestl Xplosion or whatever it was called.
Guest Midnight Express Report post Posted February 9, 2002 I was at Crunch and Futureshock which was the event with Jonny Storm v Joddy Fleish. Daniels v Williams was a delight to watch - I've never seen such a great display of wrestling live in my life. Daniels executed what can only be described as the most elegant moonsault I've ever seen. The chain wrestling brought the crowd to it's feet all the way through and both got a throughly deserved standing ovation at the end. To top it all off, Daniels is a thoroughly nice chap. I bought a Curry Man t-shirt (how could I resist?) which he was kind enough to sign while chatting to us about his dislike for Japan (which I don't agree with) and giving out fitness tips when asked! Storm v Fleisch while containing lots of spots was also a well thought out match with lots of old school body part focusing and an unusual amount of mat wrestling. This was very different to the Williams v Daniels bout but equally as exciting. I've since seen the Danials/Williams match on tape and thankfully it looks just as great second time round - if this isn't the MOTY come January 1st 2003 then I'm looking forward to the rest of this year because it means we are in for some fantastic matches. Guest MRFTW Report post Posted February 9, 2002 What'd Daniels say he didn't like about Japan?
Guest Misawa Da Man Report post Posted February 9, 2002 How good was the psychology build and match direction? And were they the key focus the entre match and not just 2/3s to feign build.
Guest Midnight Express Report post Posted February 9, 2002 What'd Daniels say he didn't like about Japan? He hated the flights over there, and then said that his last tour was 'the shits' because he found it really hard going due to the booking, or something.
