Guest Ripper Report post Posted September 14, 2002 Alonzo Mourning will likely miss the entire season: Damn, this is messed up. If Mourning does comes back, he won't be with the Heat because they probably won't resign him after this year. I really think that he should call it a career and worry about getting better. Bison Dele missing, thought to be dead. FBI is seeking his brother. I really hate seeing this. I always liked Brian Williams/Bison Dele. You have to respect a guy that said that he didn't have the love for the game anymore, and told the Pistons to keep the rest of his money from his contract because he didn't earn it and didn't want it. Hopefully he just wanted sometime alone and is ok, but it isn't looking good. Demar Johnson Breaks neck in car accident. This is REALLY too bad. I have said before that this guy is a future superstar in the league and I stand by that. He is likely to miss the season with the injury. Allen Iverson's charges dropped. Well, the truth comes out indeed. The guy that called the cops (10 hours after the incident) apparently called after he got in touch with a claims lawyer to see if he could get some money. The other guy in the apartment admitted that he lied and that he never saw a gun and that the dude that called the cops convienced him to lie about it. I guess thats it for now. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted September 14, 2002 I always liked Dele since that Nuggets team he was on that beat the Sonics. That does suck. I always hoped he would come back some day. From everything they're saying it looks like they suspect his brother did something.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted September 14, 2002 DerMarr Johnson's a future superstar? Where'd you get that from? He wasn't even all that in college. I figured he could be a starter one day, but the highest he'd go would be maybe Desmond Mason/Ron Mercer-level.

I have said before that this guy is a future superstar in the league and I stand by that. He is likely to miss the season with the injury. Johnson played one year at Cincinnati. It could of been alot worse. They showed the car on SportsCenter and he's lucky he wasn't killed.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 14, 2002 Demarr Johnson, Is a huge story here in Cincy...We hated him for leaving us when we needed him with Logan (imagine how good that team would been?) but we understood because he was already too good and He'll get big someday. As for Dele, It's likely he is dead. Which is unfourtante because he was honest. A.I gets charges dropped...yeah but too late. As for Zo, his situation is sad. Didn't Sean Elliot have something similar after '99 and returned for a productive year? However, I'm glad Mourning is pushing Ball aside in care of his health. Guest DragonflyKid Report post Posted September 14, 2002 They said Johnson will likely miss the rest of the season, that alone sounds like he will be back eventually, probably next year and that the broken neck wasn't as severe as it could have been. You can add the whole Chris Webber is in deep shit to this thread. I saw the press conference and he wasn't convincing(BTW I hate when people read from prepared statements.). With all the millions he's making he better get the best lawyers he can just to avoid prison time because I hear it looks bad for him. Too bad he might get in deep trouble for stuff that happened 10 years or so ago, as a lifelong King's fan I hope he can either get acquited or just get probation. " People said the same thing to me when Tracy McGrady was getting no minutes in Toronto, but when he got on the court, he showed skills that would emply that he would be great. Demarr came in the league and depended on his athletisim his rookie year and he didn't play that well. He had no perimeter game, he couldn't really handle but was strong on the defensive end. He came back the next year...he had bulked up, worked on his jumper and is now a very consistant 3 point shooter (DAMN good one) he can handle the ball like a point, makes better decisions on the court, and the ability to lock up the man he is across from. I have always said that if he keeps that same work ethic he will be a superstar in this leage. Mark my words.
Guest Mad the Swine Report post Posted September 15, 2002 DerMarr Johnson is a Hawk. He starts because, well, they're the Hawks. Even Pete Maravich and Lou Hudson combined couldn't make a success out this team.

I knew the Iverson Charges wouldn't stick, and neither will Webber's. I feel bad for Zo he worked hard to get back and then suffer another setback, and they say his kidney problem is worse than Sean Elliot's, I think he should retire. As DeMarr Johnson being a future star maybe but it won't be in the ATL. I think Bison Dele and his girlfriend aredead and his brother had something to do with it, The story is real big here since Dele played for the Bulls, I read the story in the paper and Dele's brother was using his passports and signing things in Dele/Williams name, and the boat that they were in was painted and the boats name was changed. Guest Redhawk Report post Posted September 15, 2002 Yeah, but Tracy was getting no minutes playing behind Vince Carter. Who's starting over DerMarr Johnson?
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted September 15, 2002 Jason Terry when he move to SG from PG
Guest Ripper Report post Posted September 15, 2002 First Demarr Johnson doesn't start. He is behind Jason Terry(20 pt per game scoring future alstar at the 2 guard spot and will play the SF behind Ira Newble or Shariff Adul Rahim at times. The Atlanta Hawks will likely have a starting lineup of PG- Dikau or Jason Terry SG- Jason Terry or Ira Newble SF- Glenn Robinson PF- Sharif Abdul Rahim C- Theo Ratliff I would put that starting lineup against most of the other East team and they will likely make the playoffs this year. Guest Redhawk Report post Posted September 16, 2002 Weren't they supposed to go to the playoffs last year? For one, you're assuming that Theo Ratliff will be healthy. He's played, what, 5 games in the past 2 years? Glenn Robinson can shoot, but now he doesn't have Ray Allen and Sam Cassell drawing defenders around him. Dikeau is a rookie, and with a few exceptions (Marbury, Iverson, etc.) rookie PGs don't just come in and make an impact. And until Jason Terry makes an All-Star team, he's just that...potential. For all we know, his 20 ppg could be due to the "Big Fish in a Small Pond" factor. And who the heck is Ira Newble?
