Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 26, 2002 If this match turns out to be Austin squashing Hennig, like Kane did last week I'll be mightily pissed off. I'm praying that they give them at least 8 minutes befopre all the inevitable shenanigins (sp?) start with nWo. I want to see if Perfect can really still work, two quasi-matches on Raw aren't enough to gauge his current ability.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 i'm also curious to see if Hennig can still bring it in the ring. He really hasn't shown me anything since he's been back. Austin-Prefect could be good providing Perfect can still bring it.
Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I hope we can see a good match here, but what I thin will happen is Perfect will be getting his ass kicked by Austin, then the nWo will probably come out and kick Austins ass for revenge.
Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Perfect looked great in the rumble match, I thought.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 He kept up pace with RVD at the house show I went to. The match was short...but I was impressed with his ability to keep up with a guy that quick. I think Perfect can still bring it.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I wouldn't be surprised if Perfect gets the win after the nWo beats up Austin. Austin probably beats the shit out of Perfect before the nWo runs-in.
Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted February 26, 2002 As long as we see the neck-snapping flip over thing i'll be damn happy
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 26, 2002 RVD/ Perfect at mania sounds good to me if bps is right about Hennig. I think he is and I hope so as well. Now if WWF would just let the guy be PERFECT for Christ's sake.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 RVD/Perfect would be good for WM. I just want to see Perfect spit out the gum.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Perfect's gum swatting kicks ass. Too bad he missed it on Raw. But his Rumble gum swatting performacne was PERFECT.
Guest RedJed Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I don't even see this going 5 minutes unfortunately. I doubt it will be the main event, but probably to start hour 2. NWO will run in at some point and maybe we'll see another decent angle out of it by the end. The actual match will be nothing though, I would guess.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 This is probably booked only for the nWo to do a run in. It will probably go 1-2 minutes before the nWo comes out. Does anyone else think that Perfect might join them?
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I hope not, but it might get him a push.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I could see it...but I think its too early. If he joins...take it as a clear sign that the WWF is actually WCW in disguise.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 26, 2002 that was a fucking joke no running neck snap, and they both looked like they wanted to be anywhere but in the ring what's with that?
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 "that was a fucking joke no running neck snap, and they both looked like they wanted to be anywhere but in the ring what's with that?" that'll happen when you realize the whole match will just get overshadowed by the predictable NWO run in. Sounds like WCW, doesn't it?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Austin seems pissed about having to wrestle a midcarder on the midcard of WrestleMania. I think Henning didn't know what to do when Austin didn't show up.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Sounds like austin is coming down with a problem that ailed wcw, the only way your going to get new main eventers are to elevate midcarders, austin just needs to remeber that.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 But they aren't elevating midcarders...their putting other people Main Eventers in the spots of other people. And they are all old. If Austin was bitching about putting over RVD or Benoit(assuming the WWF would ever elavate them) it would be different. We're talking about no talent old people. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 26, 2002 while i might disagree that Hall is a no talent essentially i agree with you. but it shouldn't be just up to the writer's to go "hey this guy is ready for the big time" guys like austin should be able to judge when a jericho or a RVD are ready nd to willingly help them elvate themselves. but than i'm an idealist. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 that's true. what has hall done to "earn" a match with Austin. nada. "I think Henning didn't know what to do when Austin didn't show up." hennig did not show up either. He still has the ring rust and the dead crowd didn't help any. Why would Austin want a program with any of the NWO members. They have not done one thing to help his career besides leaving the WWF. They are older than him, less talented, and are put in a position of power (upper card, main event) without working up towards it. They haven't proven shit! Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I'll agree with that to a point. The problem is that guys on top don't want new guys to push them out. Someone should have jumped on how hot Benoit was as a heel in mid-late 2000 and put the strap on him (He was very over...most of his US career) Same for RVD. He should have been IC champ at Rumble. It appears his time is coming now...but they could still blow it.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 26, 2002 i agree it was partly ring rust on henning's part but i think it was more that you can't have a good match with some one who doesn't want to be there and SCSA didn't want to be there.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 "Someone should have jumped on how hot Benoit was as a heel in mid-late 2000 and put the strap on him (He was very over...most of his US career)" you're right, and that was the one time Shane O Mac was at his most effective, as Benoit's voice. He was a legit badass. "i agree it was partly ring rust on henning's part but i think it was more that you can't have a good match with some one who doesn't want to be there and SCSA didn't want to be there." i don't know what thread it was, but i had mentioned earlier that it is hard to put on much of an effort when the work will be forgotten five minutes later when the match is just a backdrop for an nwo run in. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 26, 2002 i sincerely hope that when benoit comes back they give him a manger in the traditonal bobby heenn vein. wethter it be shane or Paul Heyman, ne should have a mouth piece oh and the part about it being hard to have a good match when it's just a backdrop for an nWo runin, thats very true remember all the old nitro main events, you were just waiting for the gang assualt on the faces it sucked.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I think Heyman would fit Benoit PERFECTLY. That's a great idea.

As for Heyman and Benoit, that would be a true heel tandem. Have Heyman shoot on Austin and Trips or RvD. have Benoit carry out the dirty work. Plus, the matches will be great. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 26, 2002 i know i waked into (well clicked into) a discussion about that on the old boardand iwas like holy shit why couldn't the wwf figure that out. remember when heymen first started doing commentary he did a great job of getting benoit's phisique over by saying basically,"look at the size of those arms when those squeze your head your going to tap!" just a great line that can't be matched by any of the other announcers. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I can see Heyman right now...doing a worked shoot about how Benoit is the best wrestler in the company but he is held down because he isn't a "sports entertainer". OOOHH that would own. And it would lead to a world title too... How hard is it for the WWF to do that? Seems easy enough.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 "I can see Heyman right now...doing a worked shoot about how Benoit is the best wrestler in the company but he is held down because he isn't a "sports entertainer"." I think it wouldn't catch on with most of the rednecks. I would love it because IT's TRUE! but most rednecks would resent Heyman's honesty. Just make him an assassin or a hitman who does the dirtyt work of his manager. Heyman (to anybody): i don't like you. Whoever: I don't care if you.... (Benoit strikes, hooks the crossface while Heyman belittles the guy) then when Benoit finally loses the blowoff match and Heyman gets his comeuppance, you've made the crowd happy.
