Stop Making Sense: The Greatest Concert Flick...

Recommended Posts

If you havn't seen this movie, do so now! For the uninitated, "Stop Making Sense" was the Talking Heads' concert film. Jonathan Demme, (Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia) captured the Talking Heads' quirky look at modern life perfectly. The film begins with David Byre, alone on a bare (and I mean BARE) stage with a tape player and an Acoustic Guitar. After each song a piece of the stage is brought out, and a musician enters until the 6th song ("Burning Down the House" in the standered version, "Cities" in the SE.) when the entire band is introduced. There are a good 20 some odd songs in all, and it is really a true testament to how damn good TH was.

I think it's better than any other concert movie, EVER.

I, too, am fond of it. I'll have something on it up on the main page within the next couple days.

Do you write for the main page? If not, you're free to write about it. If so, then NO IT'S MINE ALL MINE AND YOU CAN'T HAVE IT CUZ IT'S MINE!

I do not write for the main page. So I guess I can write it?

You're free to do whatever you want, my shameless baiting of La Parka marks friend.
