Edge vs. Regal at WrestleMania?

Rumor has it that Rob Van Dam will take on Mr. Perfect at Wrestlemania with Edge battling William Regal yet again in another gimmick match at the show.

Now I know that Toronto is Edge's hometown.  And he's obviously going to win the title back.  

 

I hate Edge.

 

I didn't before...but I do now.

 

His feud with Regal has ruined him.  And it looks like it could be heading for its 4th straight ppv.

 

1.  There is so much quality talent that SHOULD be getting IC title shots (RVD, Booker T, Storm, Christian...) and yet Edge gets EVERY match.

 

2.  The Edge vs. Regal matches are bad and boring and this time predictable...for extra fun.

 

3.  Why is RVD jumping into another useless feud?  Getting squashed by Kane...then wrestling RVD at the biggest ppv of the year.  How does this help elevate your midcard...oh nevermind.

 

4.  Goodhelmet is right.  This ppv is going to suck.

Edge vs. RVD would be good. Regal-Edge is old and Edge's heat is going to enter Test proportions if this continues

Oh god no, please.  I can't take another Edge/Regal match.  The feud is sooooo bad.  Hell, add RVD to it if nothing else to give it some vestige of heat and watchability.  Why not job out Regal to Perfect and make Perfect/RVD the IC match?  That might actually be, you know, a GOOD match.  I have seen enough of Edge/Regal to know that it will sucketh dicketh.

no shit, they have like 7 million guys who could be cycling in and out of feuds but they have chosen Edge as the new "second coming".  At least it's not test I suppose.

RVD should squash Regal for the belt, like their Smackdown! match and then the he and the title can go on to feud with Perfect who you say can still work and can at teh very least give RVD a lesson in ring Psych.

Storm and Christian already had the IC title in the past, how would it elevate them to have it again?  

 

But I do think YET ANOTHER chapter of Edge-RVD isn't a good idea.  Come on guys, this ain't Rock-Shamrock, these two simply don't have good chemistry together.  It should be Regal-RVD at 'Mania, but it looks like that ain't what's gonna happen.

I can't even imagine what gimmick match they are going to with these guys.........probably just something stupid like a cage. If they go HIAC I would crap bricks.......that is the only real way to make up for continuing to push this weak ass feud this long.....assuming they would actually go all out in that match. But it's obvious that neither of these guys have really benefitted from this feud too much. Only angles we've seen from this feud too is Edge spearing Regal x number of times on the entrance ramp. Wooo f'n hoooo........arg.

 

I agree they should have went with Edge v. RVD for WrestleMania. Hell, they could have even had RVD turn heel too.......would it work? Probably not, but they could try.

 

Even Christian v. Edge for the final time ever at WM would be better than Regal-Edge again.

Storm had the title for a few weeks...so did Christian.

 

Using that logic...Edge should have never won the IC belt again because he held it for A DAY in 99.

 

What does Edge gain from going after his (WHAT?) 5th IC belt?

He doesn't.  But I don't think that Storm or Christian would gain anything from another IC reign either, at least not at this point in time.  It should go to RVD.  If he & Regal could forget the "WWF style" crap and go back to their super-stiff roots for just one match, they could pull out something interesting.

If Edge has five reigns already it is a sad testemant to the state of the IC belt.  Remember when it used to be a big deal that Warrior had 2 reigns, and Hall had 4 reigns and when Jarrett broke his record.  The same is true for the world title.  Rock and Austin both have 6 reigns and they haven't mentioned that they have broken Hogan and Bret's record.  HHH has 3 reigns and they all came with in a 1 1/2 years of his big push in 99.  Now I'm ranting completly off subject.  My bad.

I am still waiting for what sure was to be a ***+ heated, bloody stiff as hell brawl between Tajiri and Regal.  But no, give these guys 3 mins and one PPV to work a match.

 

The WWF decided the fans would rather see Edge and Regal in a battle of rest holds on every PPV.  Not that there matches are that terriable.  But the fued has no heat, the wrestlers have no inring chemistry, nothing will come of it, its completely pointless to continue to shove it downs the fans throats.

Edge and Regal just don't work well together.To waste 4 months on this debacle of a feud... there's so much more both men could be doing.

 

I could live with this crapppy feud if there was at least decent matches come out of it, but they're yet to put on anything good at all.

 

After this is finally over (probably at Summerslam the way the WWF keeps unmercifully dragging this out) neither Regal or Edge will have beneffited from this, and they'll just have dragged the IC title down with them.

 

Edge v Booker, Regal v RVD, Edge v RVD, some other combination could put on a great match for the IC title, but i guess i'll have to settle for a mediocre IC Title match  at Wrestlemania.

Edge sucks now.  Regal has sucked since coming to the WWF.  Together these two are having matches that are horrible.  Get the title away from both of these guys until they are ready.  Having them wrestle at WM-X8 is a shitty idea.  I like RVD vs. Mr. Perfect for the IC title a lot better

Well, I can't say that this is great news, but something good can certainly come out of it. This HAS to be the last Regal vs. Edge encounter. That's it. If they try to draw the feud longer, or let Regal keep the IC Title, the feud will be even deader than it is now. However. since it will be their last encounter, and it since it is Wrestlemania, I fully expect them to step it up a few notches and turn out a good to great match.

 

As for Perfect and RVD, I think it's a great matchup. Sure, RVD, with his incredible fan following, should be higher up on the card, but a strong series of matches with Perfect might just be enough to propel him to the Main Event level. Plus, Perfect will get his first real feud since returning to the WWF.

 

And hey, they could play off each other pretty well. RVD thinks he's all that, and so does Perfect. You can't fit two egos that large in the same ring! It could make for some very entertaining and interesting TV.

If the motivation of the WWF was to propel up the card I would be happy.

 

But that's not the cause of this.

 

They saw how he was able to rub off some heat on Goldust and want to do the same thing to Perfect.  I bet RVD jobs.

Booker would probably make the most sense because Christian is busy under the wing of DDP.  

 

I like the angle...but the only thing that bugs me is that Christian's losing streak started with DDP and the loss of his Euro title, and it wasn't mentioned or anything.

To be honest, I really wouldn't want E&C back together.  A one time thing would be cool, for nostalgia, but other than that, it wouldn't do much for their careers, I think.  It would almost be saying to the public that they just couldn't hack it, and I think Christian can be really big one day.

 

What I find funny is that everyone is calling for their return as a team, but if it were to happen, the tag division wouldn't really be improving a whole lot.  The guys have won the tag belts so many times that another reign really wouldn't amount to anything.

I think Christian has done very well for himself...while be given nothing even closely resembling a push.
