Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted September 15, 2002 The Champaign-Urbana Bears beat the "Atlanta Falcons" 14-13 today. Even though Michael Vick is good, the "Atlanta Falcons" had no chance against the Monsters of the Middle of Illinois. Maybe the "Atlanta Falcons" can do better next week. And in a wonderful piece of news, the New Orleans Saints beat the crap out of the Green Bay Packers, 35-20, as the city of Chicago rejoices.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted September 16, 2002 I wonder who sold their souls to Satan so that the Bears can keep winning all of these close games. How about them Giants?

Guest The Voices In Your Head Report post Posted September 16, 2002 You know, Kotzenjunge isn't the only Packer fan on this board. I've been a Packer fan for as long as I can remember. Sure, they lost this week, but come on, it was a dome game, Green Bay's been notorious for being bad in domes ever since Holmgren was around. I'm not gonna dwell on the Packers today, 'cause the Rams lost! Thanks to NFL Sunday Ticket, I was able to watch their game, and I was very impressed with the Giants offense. Denver looks like they'll be a contender this year with that win over the Niners, and I was impressed as hell with what I saw of New England's blowout of the Jets. How often do you see a playoff caliber team get blown out at home like that? Plus I got to see a hell of a 4th quarter between Buffalo and Minnesota.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 16, 2002 (bends over) Eat my ass, Chicago fans!!!! In all seriousness though, I didn't get a chance to watch the game myself, since I was coming back home and all. The Pack is still fine, worry not. We've got a couple of easy wins coming up to restore our confidence(Detroit and Carolina). Then, on October 7th, we beat the everloving piss out of Chicago at "home." I'm more worried about the Patriots personally, who we play the next week. THE PACK OWNS CHICAGO. GET USED TO IT. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge

Guest packwingfn Report post Posted September 16, 2002 You guys say that every year, "The bears will own the pack this year" and what happens? Same thing every year, The packers usually tear apart the bears, both home and away! So we'll see when its time GO PACK GO!!!
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted September 17, 2002 The temporarily-displaced Bears are going to beat the Packers home and away this year, don't you worry. NFC Central...uh...North Champions this year, trust me. Damn the Texas for realigning the league, those stupid stupid Texans.

They consume more beer and bratwurst in one day than the country of Germany has in the last year.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted September 18, 2002 The Packers only weapon is Farve and take him out you cheeseheads have nothing and it showed yesterday. Yet, you can say the same about the Bears WITHOUT Brian Urlacher. Just as the Giants defense revolves around how much Michael Strahan does, the Bears defense would crumble without Brian. Imagine the defense letting up 1st down after 1st down (19 on Sunday from the Falcons). The offense is anemic with Jim Miller at QB, and their possession time is mostly 3 and out. Yet, Urlacher "saved the day" on Sunday, with 12 tackles and 2 sacks (on Michael Vick, nonetheless) preventing many key drives. BTW, GO NINERS! EDIT: Deleted my sig... Guest El Hijo Del Lunatic Report post Posted September 18, 2002 Time to BRING THE HUGE POST: I'm more worried about the Patriots personally, who we play the next week. I'd be a little worried, with a defense that's giving up the 5th-most points in the league the first two weeks. Plus, the reason the Pack owned the Bears the last few years is because the Bears refused to throw the ball down the field - but this year, they've thrown downfield more than a few times. because, come on, have you guys ever seen a true Wisconsinite Green Bay Packers fan? They consume more beer and bratwurst in one day than the country of Germany has in the last year. Are you kidding? 'Cause if that's true, the Cheeseheads are my GODS. Yet, you can say the same about the Bears WITHOUT Brian Urlacher. Geez, I don't know about that - sure, the defense seems to revlove around Urlacher, but there is some SERIOUS talent on the defensive side of the ball for the Bears. They're confident, opportunistic, and DEEP. Mike Caldwell could start for a lot of teams, and I think did start a few for the Eagles last year. They can rotate out four DT's, three ends, four linebackers, and six DB's and not have a serious dropoff. LUNATIC - Pimpin' ho's and clockin' a grip like my name was Dolemite. It wasn't really an argument I wanted to make towards the "Bears w/o Urlacher=crap". I was just implying to that while the Bears's defense relies around Urlacher, the young stars are still there, as they in Green Bay also. (Favre has a multitude of young stars in Ahman, Walker, Ferguson and Franks)
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted September 18, 2002 If they didn't have Urlacher, they would still have Colvin, Holdman and Mike Brown.
