Guest papacita Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 I've been kinda depressed since Friday for whatever reason and I was wondering what everyone else does if or when they get depressed.
Guest TheHulkster Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 I usually smoke a bowl or drink. It's not the best route, but it kills the pain for at least a little while.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 When I was depressed, I went for long walks, which I found helped alot. Just getting out was good. Either that, or you can talk about your depression with a family member or a counsellor, whatever you feel more comfortable with.
Guest Marshall Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Bottle it up untill...............
Guest Leena Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Sleep. If you can't sleep, release your pain on inanimate objects. Papacita, it always seems like you're depressed?
Guest areacode212 Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Hanging out with friends is usually a good way to forget about your depression. Basically doing anything that prevents you from being alone with your thoughts.
Guest LooseCannon Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 I smoke alot of cigarettes while aimlessly wandering. That and sometimes I try writing.
Guest Some Guy Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 I don't often get depressed but when I do I tend to drink my problems away. I also do that when I'm stressed, which I am fairly often. Either that or I go out with my girl, but drinking is less volitile.
Guest papacita Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Sleep. If you can't sleep, release your pain on inanimate objects. Papacita, it always seems like you're depressed? really?
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Think to yourself that things could always be worse. You could be me. Michael Cole: What does it all MEAN? Tune in to Random Observations to find out! How VILE!!! Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Incandenza Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Think to yourself that things could always be worse. You could be me. Michael Cole: What does it all MEAN? Tune in to Random Observations to find out! How VILE!!! Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge You either: 1) Didn't get laid 2) Alienate yourself from your friend Erica 3) Both 1 & 2 4) None of the above, in which case I apologize for being so crass.
Guest eiker_ir Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 i usually call my girl and have nice conversations with her, it makes me feel better ***oh yeah and watching a really funny movie helps too.....
Guest treble charged Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Whenever I'm depressed, I just realize that, somewhere out there, I have a biggest fan, and, it's my job to make that person happy. That usually brightens up my day.
Guest godthedog Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 i commit suicide whenever i'm depressed. it happens a lot.
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Watch some tapes of All Japan Pro Wrestling legend Shohei "Giant" Baba....the mans precious little smile will light up your day. I'm serious about that. I usually listen to music or just call up a pal and talk. Bottling shit up isn't healthy, my suggestion is to relase it in whatever way you feel comfy with.
Guest DARRYLXWF Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 i commit suicide whenever i'm depressed. it happens a lot. Doesn't that mean you'll be raining peaches?
Guest DrTom Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 I write. I find I write certain things better when I'm depressed or mad at the world than I do when I'm in a normal state of mind.
Guest imajackoff? Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 I meditate. Out with the negative energy, in with the peaceful calm.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Put on Pink Floyd's The Wall and become bitter at the world
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Being depressed is kinda fun. I wouldn't know what to do without it. If I can't get away from here, I just tend to blast music until it's worked out, or go visit a friend, or if I can..get out of town. *shrugs* But that's me.
Guest MrRant Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 If you can watch Married With Children. Al Bundy is your guide through depression.
Guest J*ingus Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Depends. I'll usually just mope around the house, trying to cheer myself up with MST3K videos. If the option is available, I'll go to Waffle House at 2 AM and smoke & eat greasy food for a couple of hours, while reading a paper and despising the universe. And sometimes I'll write about it on message boards.
Guest NazMistry Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 I make myself a bigass sandwich, throw some 'Muse' in the CD player, turn up the volume on my stereo really loud, drink a lot of Dr.Pepper and fall asleep dreaming of women I'd like to... you know the rest.
Guest Texas Small Arms 09 Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Depnds on how depressed I am. I'll either write poetry or I'll turn up this music really loud and that normally does it. Or there are the times I take a hot bubble bath, but that would only work if you are a chick
Zorin Industries Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 I usually bottle it up till it bursts, and then I bottle it up till the next time. And don't bother with counsellars, it dosen't work, and AVOID anti-depressants at all costs, they turn you into a fucking zombie. Yes, I do know a lot about this, why do you ask?
Guest DragonflyKid Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 I agree with going for a walk as i prefer solitude but everyone is different. Whenever I feel like a "loser" whose life is going nowhere fast I enjoy going out at night and gaze up at the stars. I accept the fact we are all animals on a planet in the middle of nowhere and we will all die someday. That can either lead you to an abyss or a great sense of adequacy as all urgency fades away. I don't have to do anything or be anyone, I can just enjoy life anyway I want to without irrational burdens weighing me down and when I die I die. It allows me to be less apprehensive of the future and more bold in the present. In high school I used to sulk around old-school Raven style, however cool it was it wasn't progressive as I wallowed in my depression and didn't confront and seek to overcome what was bothering me.
