Moments of High Drama.

What are some of your favorite moments of high drama in the history of wrestling. You know something that got you so emotionally involved that you felt drained after watching it and you sometimes felt like it was you experiencing it. What are some of your favorites?

I think I was actually screaming at every insane highspot in TLC I at SummerSlam 2000. I was fearing for all of their lives, first time I've ever done that for a match.

My favorite moment of high drama would have to be the 2/3 Falls Match at No Way Out 2001, HHH vs. Austin. That, in my opinion, was the best match of 2001, and lo and behold, it also was. Anyways, that made me feel like I was actually there in person watching it.

I'll avoid the puro and Vader/Flair, and go with just straight WWE, but recently:

HHH/HBK: I'm not to big on this match now but watching it and thinking about Michaels health and watching the story unfold and seeing him win was something to behold.

Foley/HHH: The No Way Out retirement match.

All time in the WWE, maybe WM13 with Austin/Hart or Hart/Hart at WMX. It's the kind of match you get into all the way, the story, the wrestling, and osmetimes you find yourself or others yelling at the TV.

Foley/HHH at the Rumble in 2000 was draining to watch...I can watch that anytime

Anything older for anyone? Like from back in the day?

Mine would be when I was a little Hogan mark and he was beaten by the Ultimate Warrior. My thoughts were "How could my hero be destroyed by this big smelly gorilla!?" *cries*

I still get goosebumps watching the end of it even though I hate both now.

Foley vs. UT - Hell in a Cell. I literally jumped out of my chair when Foley got thrown off the cell and went thru that table.

Ok...older

Warrior/Savage Mania 7...Randy dropping all the elbows...Warrior coming back for a firey finish...the stuff with Liz...

Now that's high drama

Tatanka vs. Ludwig Borga when Tatanka's winning streak ended.

I mean, Borga pinned him with one finger! I was upset the rest of the day, after that one.

Yes that was probably one of the greatest crafted angles in wrestlings history.

I can only recall 3 times wrestling made me cry:

The Savage/Liz reunion

When Liz sent that tape to be shown on Nitro right before Halloween Havoc '96 where she said she still loved Savage and Savage cut an awesome promo saying something along the lines of "Sometimes a man has to take drastic measures and do something he never wanted to do"

and the last one being the Owen Hart memorial RAW.

Benoit and Jericho vs Austin and HHH.

I was kind of iffy on this one, not knowing if The Vanilla Midgets had a chance in hell against Team Politik, and if they did get put over, would it happen on RAW and not a PPV?

My questions were answered when Jericho pinned Austin for the 1-2-3. Being a Canadian, I have a special spot reserved in my heart for Canuck wrestlers, even fake ones who were born in New York state like Jericho. I marked out like a total bitch, mainly because it completed another milestone in Benoits career (ECW, WCW, WWF tag champ). I realize this doesn't really rank up there in terms of the "Holy Shit" factor like Hell in a Cell, or the drama of Savage/Liz, but as a Canadian and a lifetime wrestling fan, it meant a hell of a lot to me.

HHH vs. Austin at NWO 2001 since I was there live.

The final Nitro (goddamn I miss WCW rename the fucking show Nitro and return the belt to its rightful name motherfuckers)

and the Owen RAW

Rock vs Triple H at Backlash 2000. From the double Rock Bottom on HHH and Shane, then to HHH looking like he'll retain the title from dubious means till Austin makes the save and give a happy ending in the match. Once the glass shattered, I jumped out of my seat and started flipping the bird at my TV. By the time the match was over I was exhausted cheering.

Hogan Vs Rock from Wrestlemania this year was pretty dramatic for me when I was watching it live. I was hammered, marking out like I had never marked out before. It was certainly an experience. Savage winning the world title was pretty emotional too besides the ones already mentioned.

Steamboat/Savage, WMIII -- months and months of perfect build-up with a final payoff worthy of upstaging Hogan.

Savage/Warrior, WM VII -- quintessential good vs. evil story, with a fairy tale ending to boot; one of the greatest tales of redemption ever.

Savage/DiBiase, WM IV -- finally a real wrestler takes the top spot from Hogan (even though the Goblin helped him win). I could have done without the god-awful tourney, but the payoff was worth it.

Austin/Hart, WM XIII -- what else needs to be said?

Shamrock/Owen (Lion's Den), SummerSlam '98 -- a nice slice of revenge, cool gimmick, and oh yeah, Owen Hart.

Michaels/UT (HIAC), Badd Blood -- the first and the best; a clear, concise story of a coward doing everything possible from getting pummeled by righteous vengeance and escaping by the skin of his teeth.

I'll throw in TLC I also, just because it kept our whole party on our feet for the entire thing cheering and gasping like maniacs.

Those are two of my favourites along with the numerous times when Sting would appear from nowhere to stop a nWo beatdown or showboating session.

Also The finish to the WM2000 main event when Vince screws Rocky, reunites the family and then Rocky gets somewhat of a revenge.

I remember going pretty apeshit for the finish of Austin/Vince in the cage at St Valentines Day Massacare as well.

Undertaker returning at Judgement Day 2000 was some damn good drama especially considering the clock for the Iron Man Match, and how the finish played out.

Nothing in wrestling has ever made me cry, but the Hogan/Rock match at this past WrestleMania gave me goosebumps. When you're an 80's hippie like me, seeing Hogan in a big venue like that with the crowd behind him warms your heart. Made me feel like I was ten years old again.

Also, I was really hoping the Rock would turn on Hogan, and we'd see a Hart/Austin-like double turn.

Rock/Austin singing Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. I hate the singing bullshit but the drama there of not knowing who will snap and when had me entranced.

One of the best that comes to mind for a match would have to be HHH/Austin vs Benoit/Jericho.

I'm gonna add a few other things to my list:

-The Owen Hart memorial on RAW. That was the most touching RAW I've seen. :(

-The Undertaker returning at Judgment Day 2000. When I heard the music start playing, I immediately jumped off the couch.

-Kane vs. the Undertaker at SummerSlam 2000. When the Undertaker started pulling Kane's mask off, I was literally marking out. Possibly one of my biggest mark out moments.

-Hogan vs. the Rock at Wrestlemania 18. I had goosebumps watching that match, and I was really hoping that the Rock would turn heel and join the nWo. Still, I was pleased with the outcome of the match.

I will have more still, I just have to think of them.

HBK vs Mankind - IYH: Mind Games. Well, everything except the lame Vader run-in/cop-out finish.

I LOVED Bret vs Shawn SS 97's drama. The real-life hatred, Bret's impending exit, the finish.

I thought it was awesome, and so did viewers since it was the turning point in ratings.

The most recent high drama moment/match for me was HHH vs. HBK at Summerslam, great drama there with HHH killing HBK's back and some great acting by Shawn. I don't care if he didn't sold the back later, i was marking out like a little a little girl from the moment he kipped up and started doing his crazy stuff and signature spots, and when he reversed the pedigree at the end, i got chills down my spine.....

aaaahhh........marking out....

ECW Reunion. When RVD and Dreamer came out, and Heyman left the announce table and cut his promo in the ring, I nearly shit my drawers. Heyman's promo on Vince before Survivor Series was pretty badass, too. Both those moments made for great drama for a hardcore fan.

As for matches, the most memorable for me were Rock/Hogan and Hogan/Savage (match made in Heaven!), and HHH/Cactus at NWO.

Watching Wrestlemania X the ladder match HBK vs. Razor Ramon. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I jumped out of my seat a few times watching that match. Another would have to be the promo that Flair cut on Bischoff on Nitro. When Ric was in the ring with the Horsemen and Flair called Bisch a son of a bitch, like, 8 times. That was a hell of a promo, and I got fired up just listening to Flair.

The rest of the day? I'm still shaken up about it.

1-The Raven/Dreamer ECW finale, with Tommy finally getting his victory...and then getting his ass kicked. It lead to a great angle, too.

2-World Championship finals in WCW, with Benoit finally winning the title.

3-Austin v. Benoit on Smackdown in Edmonton. I actually thought Benoit was winning the title.

4-Savage v. Steamboat WMIII
