Most emotional moment in a game ever.

I didn't find Aeris's death THAT dramatic, because up until that point in the game, death was merely an unpleasantness.

Literally - someone gets taken out "Oops. Here, shove this potion down their throat. Ah, there they go."

People died all the time - so why did she STAY dead that time?

Anyway, the most dramatic moment in a video game, for me, was FINALLY beating The Peacekeepers for SNES.

It's essentially a side-scrolling fighting game, like the SNES Spiderman games and the like. Anyway, me and a friend played it all the fucking time.

See, the thing was, you had two things going for you - Supermoves, and getting angry. You had two supermoves per life, and they did MASSIVE damage to everything on screen. And, when getting a serious ass-kicking, you'd sometimes become angry, which meant your moves all did extra damage, looked extra cool, and you became invincible.

HOWEVER, the final boss of the game, Tybalt, in addition to having some obscene number of lifebars (Like, 7 to your one) could get angry AND had a supermove. So he was a pain in the ass.

But, then came the day.

My friend had died, but Tybal was worn down, and, using the perrenial favourite, Norton, I was ready to take this win.

I used my last special of my last life - Norton's special move happened to be instantly getting angry.

So I get pissed, and open a can on Tybalt. Actually, to be fair, he was already pretty much done for, but it was the final blow that cinched it...

A GERMAN FUCKING SUPLEX.

ACROSS THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE SCREEN.

He landed on his head with a sickening thud, and I literally screamed with joy for the next five minutes.

That owned all. I was amazingly happy.

For me, it was probably when I beat Mortal Kombat II for the first time (for Genesis). I had played that game SO many times, but I could never beat Shao Kahn. I think I was down to my last life, and I had chosen Jax. Somehow, I managed to eek out the victory, and I went nuts, basically running around the house, screaming.

*Psychotic spoilers ahead!!!!!!!!*

Since I'm an insane Final Fantasy fanatic I'll of course have to say Aeris's death in Final Fantasy 7, I sort of knew it was going to happen in the back of my mind but I didn't actually expect to be right.

The only moment that comes close to that for me was Sephiroth's scene in Nibelheim where he walks through the fire, hey I have it as my banner and avatar.

Also the very end of Final Fantasy Tactics where Ovelia stabs Delita and then he kills her, and then Delita eventually dies, very dramatic.

And when Sniper Wolf shoots Meryl and she is lying there helpless.

I think the most emotional moment in a game for me was when I beat Megaman Legends for the first time, because I think that may have been the first time that I legitimately beat a non-sports game on my own (with no secret codes, magic whistles, etc). That, and the fact that the final boss whooped my ass for the first day a good 5 or 6 times before I FINALLY beat him.
