Ric Blade

I am just getting into CZW and was reading a review of thir latest show and the writer mentioned a wrestler called Ric Blade. I was just wondering who he was and what he was all about etc. I think that he is known for insane bumps, but could anyone give me any details about these such as from how high, onto what, who else was involved and when they took place. Any interesting things at all would be very helpful.

Can't tell you much about his big bumps apart from one:

Un F'n' Believible,

Swanton off an 18 wheeler onto Trent Acid through a table (which he nearlly overshoots)

He has now retired btw.

Ric Blade was (if he truly did retire) one of the spotiest wrestlers ever. Most of his "insane bumps" took place above 15 feet. His most notable bump occured at CZW's event called "Take One" where he did a swanton from a place about 20 feet high(maybe more, i'm not good with measurements). He over shot it and completely shattered his leg. I think he was wrestling Justice Pain, Lobo and Nick Gage in a 4 way. It's quite the thing to see if you can find a clip (note: you don't actually see his leg shatter, so that's a good thing, but the bump is Holy Shit worthy). After that I believe he quit CZW. I never cared for watching him wrestle, he didn't have "flow" and just went for as many spots as he could. It sucks that he got injured though.

Ric Blade was an overrated spot machine, whose greatest talent was jumping from high objects headfirst and breaking his leg every month. His arsenal consisted of shitty kicks and illogical spots, even for CZW. Had Blade not been willing to dive headfirst from 15-25 foot balconies and other objects, he never would have gotten over.

He's broken his legs on multiple occasions. At No Rules, No Limits (I believe) Blade went for the swanton off a 20 foot balcony onto double-stacked tables, with the Backseat Boys on both tables. Blade hit the swanton, broke the rib of Trent Acid, who was on the first table, and injured both of his legs, breaking at least one.

He has done swantons off trucks twice, once at UnF'nBelievable, where he put Acid through a table, and once at an outdoor show, where he completly overshot Trent Acid and splatted onto the grass.

As for that balcony swantons, he's done the aforementioned one, another putting Nick Mondo through a table (the only clean one he has done), and the other aforementioned one where he overshot Justice Pain and shattered his leg again.

After the injury, Blade spoke out on a message board of another company, talking about how Zandig (CZW promoter) pressured him into doing the dives and how the fans didn't appreciate him. This burned Blade's bridge with CZW, and ended any hopes of Blade being appreciated by the CZW fans ever again.

I don't believe Blade has wrestled since, having messed his leg up again. For a PWF show, however, he dressed up as Spider-Man, did a run-in, and shot silly string at opponents, which has caused Blade to be the BUTT of many jokes in the CZW community.

Blade has recently been spotted in the crowd of CZW shows recently, including Best of the Best 2 (Where a Fuck Ric Blade chant caused Blade to leave early) and the recent show last Saturday, Ultraviolent Freedom of Expression.

I personally hope Blade has retired, as he offers nothing to wrestling, and is better off doing something else.

He could never really work a match that wasn't just a bunch of spots and his kicks, which were a big part of his offense, were pretty bad.

He's a real nice guy outside of the ring, though. He and his wife/valet "Shorti" always had time for the fans.

Wow, my 200th post is wasted on a retired indy worker. I feel ashamed.
