Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 21, 2002 Well, with 1:20 roughly left in the game, here is where I don't rant, but simply say what we did wrong. Ahem... THE SECOND QUARTER. Good lord, I don't think I've ever seen such a miserable exhibition of football in my life. To give up 24 points in a matter of 5 minutes is mind-boggling. I feel that we played well for the rest of the game(except for WAY too many penalties) though. I'm also glad our loss came early. This gives us time to recover in the rankings and maybe get into a BCS bowl. I guarantee that we'll be out of the top 10 after today, because the press has been watering at the mouth to devalue us, and here's their chance. I see us dropping to 9th or 10th AT BEST, unless Ohio State loses also, then we'll be in the top 10 for sure. If we can beat Miami, which is impossible if we play as we did today, we'll make it into a BCS bowl. If not, We may just be headed for Orlando... again. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge (and now that the game is over, I switch my stuff to Green Bay mode.)
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 21, 2002 Oh, and GO IRISH, BAYBEE!!!!!!! Maybe now everyone will give them some damn credit. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted September 21, 2002 Well, I'm glad to see Kotz taking this defeat in stride and being very mature about the whole thing. With that said...WHO BE BAD NOW, BITCH? Whooo! Go Gators!
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 22, 2002 Ehh, you guys can act glad until you play Florida State. THEN you will be tested. We just sucked today. Too many mistakes. To buoy my spirits though, if you take out the miserable last five minutes of the second quarter, we won 13-6. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted September 22, 2002 My brother and I were talking about Notre Dame when they showed ND's third stringer throw a big TD pass and my brother says "They have the luck of the Irish". Then ABC cut away from the Colorado/UCLA game (DAMMIT!!! Should have known, UCLA tends to get overconfident and that's just what happened) and I saw the last play. So Notre Dame does have the luck of the Irish...and a fine defensive secondary that makes the plays when needed. Got me to wondering though...ND was supposed to lack talent...all of it recruited by Bob Davie...I guess Willingham has the ability to coax his players into parlaying that talent better than Davie can. Or Bob Davie just sucked as a coach...Yeah that's probably part of it too.
Guest Blackston Report post Posted September 22, 2002 A drunken rant is coming up, sorry about any english mistakes. As a rule of thumb, Notre Dame is never at a loss for talent. Bob Davie has to be one of the worst coaches in Division I-A, as he could not take the prestige and tradition of Notre Dame and parley it into success on the football field. Notre Dame is one of a handful of schools that can consistantly recruit on a national basis, and can pretty much land anybody that they want to. Now, it is surprising that Willingham is having as much success as he is having, since he is completely changing his offense from the traditional Option-Attack to a more West Coast flavor offense. Rest assured, the cupboard is never bare at Notre Dame, though.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted September 22, 2002 Way to have your team ready Fullmer. What a jackass Lee Corso is he said Florida didn't have any talent when they lost to Miami. That's the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard. Stop making excuses for the damn coach. Zook was outcoached by Coker 2 weeks ago, and Zook outcoached Fullmer this week. Than he kissed up to Bob Davie who works for ESPN saying these are his players. Big F'n deal he couldn't win on a consistent basis. Like Blackston Notre Dame recruits itself, getting the talent to play up to its potential is what matters.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted September 22, 2002 The Big 10 regular season starts next week any predicition on whose headed to Pasadena in January. That's a tough one. Michigan will have a bad loss along the way. Ohio St. will probably need to beat Michigan and lose. So I'll say Penn St. plays in the Rose Bowl this year. The team I feel bad for his Illinois. The one year the Big 10-Pac 10 champs don't play in the Rose Bowl they win the title. Damn College Football why did you have to ruin the last traditional bowl game. In the Pac 10. Nothing looks like a gimme this year. So I'll go out on a limb and pick Oregon St. to win the conference. They've got a big game next wek at USC, but they play the Civil War in Corvallis. That's the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard. *AHEM* CORSO OWNZ. Besides, you have to admit that the Gators don't have the talent they had a couple years ago, or even last year. That's a tough one. Michigan will have a bad loss along the way. Ohio St. will probably need to beat Michigan and lose. So I'll say Penn St. plays in the Rose Bowl this year. NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND! Penn St. has to play AT Michigan, AT Wisconsin, and AT Ohio State in a span of four weeks this year. If they sneak out of there unbeaten, then yes. But I don't think that the Lions can win all three of those games, though I think they could win two. Besides, I think that PSU loses to Michigan State. Next year, however, the Lions will have to be the favorites. LUNATIC - Pimpin' ho's and clockin' a grip like my name was Dolemite.
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted September 22, 2002 Being an Irish fan living on the outskirts of Happy Valley, I would mark out if they both went undefeated and played in the Fiesta Bowl. No chance in hell, but it would be a hell of a story. TAKE THAT SPARTANS!!! YOU'VE STUCK THE DAGGER IN OUR HEARTS FOR THE LAST TIME!! EDIT: Another spelling error. That's two in the last few days. I must be slipping in my old age.

They might not have the talent but its still one of the most talented teams in the country. They flat out got outplayed by Miami. IMO...that's the Coaches fault. Damn, Penn St. has got a tough schedule. Guess I'll rethink my pick.
