New Season of The Shield not until January?

Why are they waiting until January to start the new season of "The Shield" on FX? I love that show.

Dammit! I love the Shield too. Its intensity reaches through the TV and punches me in the face. Best thing on FX (like that's hard to accomplish), even better then Son of the Beach.

Will The Shield season one get a DVD? Every other successful first season show seems to be getting one.

They always wait 7 months before a new season for all Cable shows (or 16 months for REALLY popular ones)

The Shield Season One on DVD is coming out in January on the same day season 2 premieres.

 

The season 2 premiere will air about a year after the first season premiere, like it is for most shows.

 

It only seems longer because there were only 12 or 13 episodes and not 22 like shows on network tv.

FX is apparently really trying hard to make The Shield into their version of "The Sopranos". It's working so far if you ask me.

 

In the meantime, can they please cancel "Son of the Beach" and replace it with first season Shield reruns?
