Guest Risk Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I mean, Osama, Saadam, and Hitler were evil, not Jazz. He even refers to McMahon as "evil, the devil, and satanic". I mean, come on.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Because he's JR. I wish he would take it down a few notches and act more like an impartial play-by-play announcer, then only whip out the hyperbole for something REALLY horrific. All his BAH GAWD!! ranting loses its effect when we're treated to it every time a heel does something.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Yeah, it's kinda goofy, but that's what face announcers do.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Yeah, did you hear him bitch and moan about Chuck being the illegal man when not even a minute ago Lita interfered(illegally, too, I might add) with her shitty hurricarana? I know he's done it before, but goddamn.... This is why I hate Lawler so much too. He just sat there like the stupid ass hornball he is while JR blathered on and on about Chuck cheating. At least Heyman had the balls to call him on that shit.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I remember Paul calling JR out of that. Remember JR at Summerslam 2000 rambling about how Kurt Angle got screwed by Austin? Heyman had a "What the fuck" look on his face.
Guest Risk Report post Posted February 26, 2002 JR is either too old, a hypocrite, or both. He was good a while ago but needs to hang up the cowboy hat. Let the younger announcer(except Michael Cole) come in. I can't wait till Heyman gets JR's job.
Guest Risk Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Maybe when Shane takes over(if you think Steph will you are sadly mistaken) and Heyman has JR's job he can get in Shane's ear(not that way, pervs). He could convince Shane to declare everything after Vince McMahon senior to not be included in the WWF's history. He could them reform WCW and give the fans a choice. WCW would have WCW and ECW stars while the WWF would have all the new guys and "hosses". It could all be shoot too, making wrestling a legitimate sport. Guest Risk Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Shane could then buy the NWA name and stars and call the triad fed the National Wrestling Alliance.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 JR is still the best thing the WWF has, but when he retires, they'll have some problems finding the new voice of the WWF. Michael Cole isn't the next voice of the WWF.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I think JR will be with the WWF for a long time. He has other responsibilities outside of his announcing duties, which means the WWF has a vested interest in keeping him around. In the meantime, it wouldn't hurt for them to groom someone else to take his place eventually. I hope they end up using someone who knows a thing or two about wrestling and getting things over as opposed to Michael Cole. Lawler should know about wrestling, but you would never know it the way he behaves on in the broadcast booth.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 The whole organization needs an enema. The announcers just seem tired. Lawler's chick jokes and groping seems forced or at worst, creepy like a pedophile. The young guys, Cole and Coach, spew crap like good company men and are not doing themselves or the federation any favors. Look at tonight's RAW. Everything was flat. The matches sucked for the most part, The crowd pops for entrances, yell what!?! and go Wooooo. It's old. The set has gone unchanged. The music for each wrestler is either old and over or new and bland. Even JR's talent skills are gone. Either you are a hoss or need work or are too fat. This is why I stress pushing new guys so much. We really need something that doesn't seem so tired. look at three of the mains for this years Mania: Hogan-Rock Hall-Austin Flair-Taker The average age is at least 40 years old even with Rock's youth. This company is looking to the past, not to the future and it is gonna bite them in the ass.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 26, 2002 you hit the nail on the head goodhelmet wcw spent all their time and energy promoting the older esablished stars and ignoring the young talent like benoit and jericho and look what happened there. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Hey, I know I bitch alot about the product but I wouldn't bitch if I didn't care. I was loyal to WCW up until late '98. I PAID for Road Wild 98, Fall Brawl 98, Starrcade 98 and 97. And then there was nothing because they couldn't give proper closure to any story. How many matches were advertised that ended up being swerves or cancelled? And then the WWF is doing the same friggin thing with the same people!!!! You know, WCW proved it is not hard to build a name. They built Goldberg perfectly. Boom. Instant star. You just tell your locker room leaders to take some new guy (Lesnar, Rico, Waterman, whoever)that they will be lying down for him in a month and teach him the ropes well. His performance will reflect upon him and the "leader", then we'll see who really loves this business and who is a politician!

Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 26, 2002 i know how you feel it's the same with me and the mention of the black scorpion GOD DAMN DUSTY FUCKING RHODES TRY AND RUIN FLAI....oops.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I love Flair to death but the man tried to put his kid on tv. What the fuck was he thinking?!?! david was cast in a bad light and couldn't perform. thatis one bad case of nepotism and I blame Ric Flair for that.
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 You got to admit, you marked out when Benoit stretched David Flair for the US title. Dames
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 26, 2002 very true but i don't know if that was more russo and bishoff nd the god awful reality crash tv shit. i think flair has too much respect for wrestling to tell the writers to give his son the us tittle. at leas that's what i like to tell myself
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 by the time benoit stretched him i was already gone from wcw wrestling. too bitter. and flair was not beyond putting his own ego in front of anyone else. I recommend ya'll read tom zenk's columns. he puts everything in perspective much like foley did before he became a parody of his former self.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 26, 2002 zenk is a bitter bitter man even more so than bret
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 26, 2002 i thought that at first also, but he makes sense. he exposed wcw. he realizes it is all about the money and how the WWf and wcw practice policies that prevent money. he's like the ultimate smark who actually wrestled. Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted February 26, 2002 The thing that was pissing me off on RAW was lawler doing the whole heel sympathyzer shit with NWO. you'd think that a poison group coming in to kill your company would illicit nothing but negativity from everyone. Especially after hogan tried to "kill" Rocky. Oh well. I miss Heyman.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 Tom Zenk writes some awesome columns. David Flair's career hit rock bottom before his career ever started. He looked so wimpy wrestling with that body. I think Bischoff and some of Flair's foes got a kick out of David.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted February 26, 2002 The Z-Man was great. David Flair was a bit of an embarassment. But hey, he's training now, and if he has even a quarter of his dad's wrestling skills he could be great in a few years.
