Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted February 26, 2002 First of all, I just wanted to say this Raw absolutely sucked. Dead crowd, boring matches, bad promos, bad vignettes. Okay, now onto the topic. Here are some observations I had about the end of Raw, which some of you may have had as well. 1) Mr. Perfect no-sellling the Stunner: Perfect lays down for the 1-2-3, and then immediately rolls out of the ring -- on to his feet! He then proceeds to walk to the back as if nothing happened. All of this was caught on camera. 2) Scott Hall dumping the wheelburrom of cinder blocks onto the camera man: Nothing really more to say about this, I just thought it was funny how he almost hit the cameraman directly. 3) Scott Hall bleeding: Anybody know why he was bleeding? 4) JR and King: After Hall smashed the cinder block onto Austin, all we heard was "My gawd!" and then a "What the hell?" but it wasn't a "WHAT THE HELL! THIS IS HEINOUS!" it was just a genuinely surprised JR saying "what the hell?" The commentating immediately ends, seemingly with no reason at all. The nWo were around the table, but they didn't do anything, at least nothing that would have made JR and King to step out of the broadcast booth. Did I miss something? Am I looking too deep into this? Maybe I am, but I just felt the ending to Raw was very bizarre.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 1. Perfect probably had to get out of the ring quick to let Auustin and the nWo do their little angle. 2. I think one of the blocks may have hit the camera man. 3. It probably happened when he "broke" the block on Austin's leg. Pieces went flyinh every where. 4. I guess the idea was JR & "The King" felt threaten so they left. The WCW announcers used to do that all the time when the nWo got near them.
Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted February 26, 2002 It was bizarre the way the commentary stopped and everyone just stood around for a while, but I think they meant for it to be like that. It had a disconcerting feel to it, and was not the usual way a Raw ends, which is what they were going for, I think It actually somewhat reminded me of the immediate aftermath of the Montreal Screwjob. Guest Army Eye Report post Posted February 26, 2002 It was weird and unsettling and I liked it. Unless something did go wrong but I don't think so. Kind of like the Shawn Michaels collapsing in the ring. The last 5 minutes or so were totally silent. Very eerie Yeah It was funny when Hall unloaded those cinder blocks right into the cameraman. He just looked around and had a WTF look on his face Not like they were real cinder blocks, so it's not like they hurt him if one did hit him
Guest FatKaneOfWar Report post Posted February 26, 2002 At first I thought somebody in the crowd had thrown a drink at JR and King or something. Hey, now there's an idea! That would be great to do to Michael Cole! And about the cinder blocks, I think the ones that were in the wheelburrow were real. They would have surely smashed upon impact with the floor. You can see Hall lifting the ring apron to get the gimmicked one anyway.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I loved the way they handled the beatdown tonight. THIS is how the Rock beatdown should have went, not extending the damned segment half the show with a bullshit injury angle.
Guest Ihatesmarksandmarks Report post Posted February 26, 2002 the show did end weird...the nwo music didnt even play...and honestly i didnt even see the cinderblock, (hogan nash ran down within 2 feet of me) It was just odd....i really dont know what they were going for, but it confused the fuck out of the crowd. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 If it confused the crowd...that's what they probably were going for.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 26, 2002 I thought the end was a little strange too. The way JR and the King flew out of the announce position made it look like something went wrong. I don't think it did but that was the feeling for a moment. Maybe there were sound troubles at the end of Raw?
