I picked up the WWF - Classic Five of 1998 Box Set tonight for like $35 bucks and it looks decent. Includes WM14, KOR 1998, Royal Rumbe 1998, SummerSlam 1998 and Survivor Series 1998. I plan on doing a review when it gets here for each tape for both thesmartmarks.com and SmarkTalk.com. I think its a pretty good deal since its 5 tapes for 35 bucks and its hard to find some of them.

You stole my gimmick Mr Rant!!

I also last yr picked up the Classic 5 and did all the rants in order.

Have fun- the shows are pretty good

The shows are mostly good...my only bitch is that the tapes are all on EP...and that gives you a little darker and not as great picture...although they're still very watchable and if you don't think about it you'll hardly notice it.

I got mine for X Mas a few years ago

Plus, it displays nice next to the VCR or wherever.

That's right. I'm taking your gimmick beeyotch. :firing:

I didn't even know you did that lol. Ever since 411 started the pop ups I haven't been going there as much

Oh- it wasn't at 411- it was at The Wrestling Repute.

But yea- the quality of the tapes are ok but SummSlam 98 makes it worth it

I primarily got it because it was a good turning point for the WWE when things got real interesting with WM14, SS and KOR is what I remember the most.

Yea- those are the best shows of the set.

I get a cut of the profits right??

I haven't seen that box set here in Australia, but would've love to have gotten hold of it. Too late now, though. Looking foward to your review.

Out of those videos, I would have to say Wrestlemania 14 is the best. SummerSlam 1998 was also pretty good, not to mention the Royal Rumble 1998. I would say the worse out of those videos would be the King of the Ring 1998. For some reason, I didn't like it that much. The Survivor Series 1998 was pretty decent. All in all, you got yourself a good deal.

Survivor Series 98 has way too many matches and most of them suck

KOTR 98 has an awesome Rock v. Shamrock match and is a very good card top to bottom even though the main event is awful

If the set is in ep I would think you should buy the 98 ppvs on original home video (recorded in sp stereo). They still have these available for th e most part. Check out shopzone they still have rumble 98 and others original copies. the wm box set is really crappy quality. When will we get WM dvds?

I remember when Shopzone first sold that set you also got a 'Classic 5' t-shirt ith it. It was black with the 5 PPV logos on the front.

I just finished watching Wrestlemania 14, and that had to have been one of the best Wrestlemanias in the history of the WWE. It beats out any Wrestlemania I've seen, that's for sure. By the way, I've seen Wrestlemania 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, so I can't compare Wrestlemania 14 to 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1.
