Guest Midnight Express83 Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 I going by either drawing power, wrestling talents, the whole total package, best matches, best carrying people to matches, ect. ect.
Guest BAR Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 I'll go for Bret, he was, and still is my all time favourite wrestler (along with Dyno), plus I don't have much puro experience, although I did just see Owen vs. Liger (sp?) from 'Top of the Super Juniors', amazing match.
Guest razazteca Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 I vote Brett Hart because he went through the system of tag team to IC champ to WWF champ and had some good matches that made the opponet look good. And was very good in interviews and WCW never happened
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted September 18, 2002 Report Posted September 18, 2002 I'm the only Lyger vote so far? WOW. That guy rocked the world that decade. Austin's peak stuff was 96-98. Some excellent tag work 91-92, but as for the rest, eh.
Guest Si82 Posted September 18, 2002 Report Posted September 18, 2002 My vote goes to Bret Hart. The man is one of my favoutire wrestlersof all-time. He could wrestler, carry most guys to a good match, cut a great interview and he helped to make Steve Austin one of the biggest drawing wrestlers ever. Kudos to Bret. He deserves it.
Guest goodhelmet Posted September 21, 2002 Report Posted September 21, 2002 i agree with si82. bret hart was puting on the hits from the early 90's all the way up to his swan song match w/ benoit!
Guest goodhelmet Posted September 21, 2002 Report Posted September 21, 2002 while it may not be his actual swan song, i think you could make that case that that match was bret's true final appearance in a wrestling ring.
Guest midnight_burn Posted September 22, 2002 Report Posted September 22, 2002 I vote Bret Hart, he was having great matches all throughout the 90's, cut great interviews, and could carry just about anyone to a good match.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted September 23, 2002 Report Posted September 23, 2002 Bret's right up there, too. Several phenomenal matches at house shows, on TV and PPV, as well as awesome storylines and mic skills, but he had some stinkers though. Especially when he felt inclined to dog it. I've never seen Lyger blatantly phone it in.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 We know you would vote Bret.
Guest Y2BigJ Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 Had to vote for HBK, I know about his back stage rep, I am a huge ,HBK mark
cawthon777 Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I'm actually torn here. Long-time Bret fan, will always be, and he's the reason I watch wrestling - however - and I know for a fact some people that know me are going to be royally pissed about this but I had to go with Shawn Michaels. They're basically even in my book but Michaels had better mic skills and charisma, that's basically the tie breaker. I'm not a fan of Michaels' backstage antics and reputation but he had what it takes inside the ring. I vote HBK as Wrestler of the 90s over Bret for the same reason I might vote Hogan as Wrestler of the 80s over Flair. If I was voting for my favorite wrestler of the 90s, I'd go with Bret.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I voted for Austin. He went from a wrestler to a brawler to the biggest draw and he did it all better than most.
