Guest goodolemr Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 From Pro Wrestling Torch... With all the other noteworthy happenings on Raw, the lowlight of the program had to be that one of the Raw superstars had a live match, even though this individual was clearly in "no condition to perform." http://www.pwtorch.com/artman/publish/arti...ticle_692.shtml Any idea who it was?
Guest Chuck Woolery Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Hmm... :thinks hard: Can't think of anybody whose name doesn't rhyme with Meth Party.
Guest Incandenza Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 The only thing I saw of Raw last night was the main event, and by that, I'm guessing Jeff "Let's See How Many Spots I Blow" Hardy.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Hardy looked pretty bad last night. He's looked pretty bad for the last year, really.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Maybe Jeff and RVD were backstage sharing a "substance" Or maybe he was taking cues from Jackie Geida (sp)
Guest Chuck Woolery Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 ... my nickname for him was way better, though I agree with that one. He fucked up the Whisper, and HHH sold being woozy for like half of a minute before Jeff hit it. Made me laugh almost as much as RVD's "Angry Angry Man" promo.
Guest Incandenza Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 From what I've read, Test was pretty sloppy, too, but that's Andrew for ya. It has to be Jeff.
Guest bob_barron Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Test was sloppy but not whoa- he's on something sloppy. Jeff was just sad. I was watching with a group of casual and non-fans and even they were making fun of him
Guest Incandenza Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 I wasn't even paying much attention, but I laughed when Hardy fucked up his rail running bit.
Guest bob_barron Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 The article on the torch also says- Elephant in the Room: With all the other noteworthy happenings on Raw, the lowlight of the program had to be that one of the Raw superstars had a live match, even though this individual was clearly in "no condition to perform." By the way, that's a polite way of saying that the guy wrestled like he had arrived at the building via Smoke-a-Bowl Boulevard and Crackhead Drive. Jim Ross can talk all he wants about the high altitude in Denver, but it sure looked like someone backstage dropped the ball in clearing this person to work. Hey, admittedly I can't prove that there were any hopped-up performers on Raw. Maybe the poor guy was wrestling while injured. Maybe he recently suffered some deep emotional trauma, and his mind was elsewhere. But that particular match was an embarrassment, and the circumstantial evidence shows that someone backstage should have seen it coming. Scott Hall could have turned in a more professional outing after a bottle of Cuervo Gold. If you can read lips, you know that another wrestler in the ring was also disgusted with that guy's particular performance. In any case, somebody in the back owes a big fat apology to the guy who could have had his neck broken last night. And the other guy needs to be taken off the booking sheets until he has his stuff together. While the WWE needs some more free publicity, I don't think they want to get it by having an impaired wrestler split his head open like a melon on live television.
Guest Angle-plex Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 At least Sabu can still do SOME spots. Hardy's body is already to bad to keep doing these "Extreme" moves.
Guest bob_barron Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Jeff was probably upset that Bradshaw wan't there. They were probably really close backstage
Guest TheArchiteck Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Yeah, I barely notice blown spots since my knowledge on moves are limited. But Jeff seemed to be missing every major spot.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 It was actually Lance Storm.
Rob E Dangerously Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 It seemed like Jeff was on tranquilizers last night
Guest candie45 Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 It MUST be Jericho. But Hardy blew basically every spot he tried. And he was even paler than his normal 'white as a ghost.' He was awful.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 I saw the Main Event and was afraid to watch Hardy do the Swanton because he had fucked up all of his moves already.
Guest Incandenza Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Shall we start a pool to see how many days before J. Hardy checks into rehab?
Guest candie45 Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Okay, um, I just came across this and I thought this was related to the subject in this thread.... more evidence that Jeff is fucking weird. I am very disturbed.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Damn, maybe I shouldn't have left the room to do the dishes once I found out who HHH's opponent would be -- on a scale of 1 - 10 (1 being a simple botched in-ring mistake, 10 being Jake Roberts at Hereos of Wrestling PPV) what would you rate Jeff's condition?
Guest converge241 Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 the worst thing about hardy was: usually if a guys at half speed (for whatever reason) they usually dont blow the spots. but yet that has to be the night they give him a desire video AND put him in the main event (i know hes had like 2 main event matches before but the desire video was a double push)
Rob E Dangerously Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 candie: that's sick. kkk: I'd give Jeff an 8. Because he managed to not jump off with the swanton, he didn't have to have his match turned into a tag match. Although he was very slow and blew spots like mad
Guest Human Fly Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 While the WWE needs some more free publicity, I don't think they want to get it by having an impaired wrestler split his head open like a melon on live television. When did Jeff Hardy almost split his head open in the match though? I was flipping back and forth between that match and football. He blew a bunch of spots, but it's not like that's something new for him. The only wrestler that I saw almost bust his head open was RVD on the ramp when he dove at HHH.
Rob E Dangerously Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 The only wrestler that I saw almost bust his head open was RVD on the ramp when he dove at HHH. Maybe it WAS Rob Van Dam
Guest candie45 Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 The only wrestler that I saw almost bust his head open was RVD on the ramp when he dove at HHH. Maybe it WAS Rob Van Dam Aw, shit. It can't be. Jeff fucked up too bad. I mean, yeah, he normally blows a spot or two, but he botched every one except the Swanton. Think of this though, he screwed up many times... in a match against HHH. Jeff Hardy's career = Triple H SMASH!
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 When RVD jumped out of the ring and landed on his head, it seemed to me that HHH moved out of the way... kinda like the Lucy/Charlie kick-the-football routine...
Guest Human Fly Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 The more I think about it the more I think it could've been RVD last night. Test is my darkhorse. Some examples: Jim Ross can talk all he wants about the high altitude in Denver, but it sure looked like someone backstage dropped the ball in clearing this person to work. I don't remember JR saying anything like this during the Hardy - HHH match. (I was flipping back and forth with football though) I know something like that was said either during the Test - Booker match or the RVD match. In any case, somebody in the back owes a big fat apology to the guy who could have had his neck broken last night Test messed up some spots pretty bad in his match with the Book. Particularly the sideslam. If he would've dropped him wrong from that it could've been bad. Add to the fact that after everytime time Booker kicked out Test had this crazy look on his face that looked to be a combination of sucking dick and getting struck by lightning and that's why he's my darkhorse. No sober man should be making faces like that. RVD looked to make solid contact with Jericho's head 3 times by my count. Maybe they were just good looking shots, but they looked brutal. Jeff Hardy messed up a bunch of spots but most of the time he was falling over the ropes, off the ramp, or completely missing. Once again maybe I had the football game on but I don't remember Hardy almost breaking HHH's neck.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Test. "Duh...Here we go. Okay, we go up. Oops, we went boom. We try again. We went boom again"
Guest Ram Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 At least Sabu can still do SOME spots. Hardy's body is already to bad to keep doing these "Extreme" moves. Isn't Jeff like 14 or something?
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted September 17, 2002 Report Posted September 17, 2002 Couldn't have been RVD. He looked fine last night, except for Trips trying to kill him by sidestepping the plancha. I wouldn't doubt it if Trips suddenly said "NO POBO!!!," spat some water, and said that RVD wasn't ready for the main event because he almost killed himself on the plancha. For an explanation of NO POBO!!!, go to General Chat's Random Observations column. I'm REALLY starting to dislike Trips after last night. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
