ABC Series Premieres

OK, I only saw 2 of them, but here are my thoughts.

8 SImple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter

This is of couse the sitcom starring John Ritter and Katey Segal that ABC is HEAVILY pushing. I missed the first segment, but everything that I saw was funny. I felt like I was able to relate to a few of the aspects in the pilot. Another plus was that there were none of those crazy camera angles that have become so popular lately. I like the old-fashioned way of shooting TV shows, movies, etc. This show also featured a live audience, which I will take over a Laugh Reel any day. I will most likely watch this show again next week.

Push, Nevada

Here is another show that ABC is really getting behind. They are probably hoping that having Ben Affleck as a writer will be enough to pull in a decent -> good rating. Thus far, the show has many interesting points. There is a little bit of fraud, some romance, a murder and a whole lot of mystery. The quick plot is that an IRS agent travels to Push, Nevada, a place where every couple has sex at exactly 9:15. Push is also a little fishy because all of it's financial records from 1985 forward are locked up. For now, that is about all you know, but it is more than enough to make someone come back and see what happens on Friday night. I highly reccomend checking this one out. The pilot will re-air Firday at 8:00 and a new episode will follow at 9:00.

Don't forget Push, Nevada also is offering the 1,000,000 dollars missing in the show as a prize to viewers who watch and correctly guess what happened to the money

Push unfortunately moves to Thursday at 9 pm which is probably going to kill it since it goes up against CSI. I think its a pretty decent show so far, but I remember someone said you should always give a show 3 episodes before you make a judgment. Considering that 3 episodes is next Thursdays Episode, which goes directly against the CSI Season premiere, I dunno. Im gonna watch Thursday's 2 Hour episode (and Im taping them as well, for the game aspect of catching small little clues)

8 Simple Rules was very good and It's gonna be hit...Push? It may bore the quickie payoffs style people enjoy these days.

That's true. I am in the minority when it comes to liking long, well thought out storylines.

Although, I sorta liked the Push show...I'm glad it's not on at Tuesday at 900 permantly. Here's a question...Why didn't ABC just hold Blue for a while as usual and debut Push at Tuesday at 1000 for the first half and see how it does and replace on the Primetimes or failed dramas? They did it for Philly (which really should not been canceled) and Once and Again.

The overnights are in. IIRC, 8 simple rules won the night with 10.8. Push received a 7.9. The show inbetween those two scored a 10.6.

Push was pretty strong... Reminds me of Twin Peaks...

Its supposed to, and its funny because I've seen the DVD Twin Peaks (a roomate had it) and I didnt like it. Hearing that this show was supposed to be like Twin Peaks, I was a bit skeptical that I would like the show, but I have to say that Im pretty much hooked after 1 episode.

And a 7.9 rating is a bit weak, but it is possible that people knew about it debuting tonight and not Tuesday night.
