Not really. For years I was an "asshole" and it got me nowhere - the few friends that I had were (and still are) assholes, and although I did get companionship I also got constantly insulted and put down... I associated this "oppression" (forgive the overstatement but its the only way I can think of to put it right now) with being an asshole, and have gone out of my way to be a nice guy ever since. At least now I can hang out with more people, more often, and really, is swearing really necessary to get a point across? What does being mean actually accomplish? Nothing... I still rarely get angry, but afterwards I feel terrible, stuck thinking "what's the point? why did I do that?"

 

Well... I still haven't figured out, but I have figured out that I hate who I was, and like who I am... the irony is I'm still pushed around, even more than I was when I was an asshole. But hey, somebody's got to be on the bottom, right?

 

However, deep down, I can still be very callous and bitter. I choose to bury these feelings and only express them when alone. Why? Because I hate having them, and don't want many other people to know I do. Even though "Punk Princess" is obviously me, she's still "detached" enough that I can safely throw out those useless cuss words and anger. Of course those are directed at myself because I feel bad later if I direct them at anyone else... besides, I'm used to being yelled at and being a scapegoat after all these years anyway.
